Was looking to get my first D5100 set and come across this.
Sure it is still cheaper from DWI ($42 cheaper), but this is a local stock that comes with 2 years Nikon Australia warranty from Hardly Normal.
Offer ends 27 April 2012 it seems.
Enjoy.

compare to 60D. no way. imo it might be comparable to 550d or even 1100d
It sits very very very close to 550D ;).
D3100 sits between Canon 1100D and Canon 550D/600D. It is more a competitor to Canon 1100D. Nikon D3100 has 1080p@24, but auto focus only (you generally want manual focus for video though). It has better auto focus and low light performance than Canon 1100D. It is no match for Canon 550D/600D. The latter just has much more raw performance than D3100.
It is still an entry level DSLR. Below average continous shooting speed, and the 1080p video is limited.
Twin lens kit isn't really a good option to be honest. Changing lens is not something a DSLR beginner wants to do very often.
Yes after owning/using the twin lense kit 550D I see what people mean having to change the lenses over all the time even as a DSLR noob like myself. Ah well, it was cheap.
great deal for local stock.
being an SLR noob myself i figured out the lens changes pretty quickly but i only got the 55-200, shame i didnt see this deal earlier!
Buy the d5100, dont buy this (yes, i am a photographer), the d5100 is am amazing, awasome beast in a small body that will make you very happy! The d3xxx series is not worth it unless its a gift, in which case you can onsell and get the d5100 body! Sometimes its better not to get the cheapest, this is one of thoes times!!
I see a good bargain listed for the d5100 body and a great kit for the canon 600d kit which is the most compareable to the d5100. I prefer the nikon but the canon is better sensor (but worse color, better detail)
not too bad..
i wonder how it compares to the cannon 60D
