Is a native resolution 720p projector good enough for powerpoint presentations (text) in a lit room?

Hi all,

Thanks for reading.

This is the model I am interested in , for doing powerpoint presentation in a lit room:

iBright 720P Projector
iBright 720p LED Multimedia Projector 1800 Lumens 5M Range
SKU #77579
https://www.ibright.com.au/projectors?pgid=kphq6535-71168f13…

https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/ibright-720p-led-multime…

If it is not good enough , then what would be the minimum native resolution I should be looking in a portable projector for doing powerpoint presentation?
1080p ?
1440p ?
2K ?
4K ?
????

Please advise.

Thank you very much.

Yes, 480p is good enough for text.

That projector is nowhere near bright enough to work in an office. 150 ANSI lumens is nothing, it's made for movies in a dark theatre room. For a brightly lit office you'd be wanting a minimum 1000 ANSI lumens to be visible. A basic data projector made for an office is usually 3000+ ANSI lumens - https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/benq-dlp-p… - like that.

Resolution doesn't matter so much, text will be crisper at 1080p but 720p will be fine. If it's hard to see, move the projector closer to the wall and zoom in at the source more.

  • Depends on lighting and how far away from the screen you put the projector. I suggest looking up buying project guides and have a read of them.
