Please help: Problems with Samsung S21 Range Trade-in $200 Bonus with their SA.... codes and totally clueless customer service

HI OZB's,

Can anyone please comment; if for the last few days they are having success or problems redeeming the Trade-in code for the current Bonus $200 for S21 Ultra, I have been trying for nearly 1 week with no luck always ends up with this stupid message the moment I start to enter the SA codes it pops up:

“Sorry, due to an error, trade-in service is unavailable at the moment”. I used the trade-in Bonus before, once before few months back with no issue but no luck in recent days. Tried Incognito Chrome, Firefx and Edge still the same error, Samsung website not accepting the trade-in code starts with SA…

The $200 bonus was suppose to be working Tradeup code till end of November, and Samsung chat, phone or email is just plain pathetic and clueless as their response was there is nothing they can do and asked me to contact Asurion instead, but why Ausrion??
Especially when The Trade-up App works fine and spits out the trade-in code with no issue, it is only an issue the moment you try to checkout and enter the SA….code number, and even when I only start entering first valid digits "S" it has already been rejected with the above message.

It is driving me mad, after all the hassles with the code and time wasted, as it took me 5 attempts before I got the $50 news sub, another 1 week to get them to verify my old Samsung fotos of IMEI to get the $100 loyalty code and nearly 1 week to try and buy with the trade-in code that does not work. 2 weeks so far is just a freaking joke to buy from Samsung Direct. Unfortunately for me all TCN cards sold out at my local store and so now my only hope is to buy from ebay, hopefully they will give 10% Disc with ebay Plus on Black Fri; as quite a few are selling for $1349 S21u 256gb such as Mobilieciti, All phones, etc last I looked.

Please comment if it works for you and how or if you are having the same problems as I do.

    to contact Asurion instead, but why Ausrion??

    because they do the trade up part of the transaction

    • Yes, I know Asurion does the trade-up App, but the APP spits out code fine there was no issue there and Samsung website just pops up with error message the code the moment I enter "S" even before all the codes were entered, so it seems none is accepted if they wont even accept the 1st Valid digit, all codes seems to start with SA…

    i have the same issue as yours and i have given up on Samsung customer service. I would be trilled if someone in OZB can provide a workaround or solution to this.

    • I would have given up if not for all the hassles getting the freaking codes seems a total waste but might just havce to let it go it seems, thought I will try 1 last attempt to see if anyone else have same issues as I had. Was yours 1st time using the trade-in on same fone as well or subsequent as pointed out by Websterp below could be the problem, curious to know please. Thnx

        No, it was second or third time from memory but i emailed Ausrion and got the other codes deleted from their system. However, any new/subsequent codes that were generated faced the same issue - i.e before i type SA the error throws up with trade up is unavailable…..blah blah blah

        • Thanks for the advice mate, exactly the same experience thing for me too. I too have given up on their customer service and ended up buying from Jb instead. If not because of the trade issues with US-China, I might have bought a Huawei or Xiaomi instead because I am invested in Android.
          Samsung try to emulate a certain fruit Company successes in so many ways, but they never could largely because of such poor customer service experience, not surprising the fruit has the most loyal customers and will have no problems taking our money for sure in the same situation.

    Have you generated multiple codes in the app for the same phone? This happened to me and I had to contact Ausrion to get this fixed (you can contact their support via email )

      Actually my 2nd time but I entered a different IMEI as we had 2 fones IMEI, just used the same Trade-up APP as my wife does not want any crap on her old fone, but how do they even know what code it was before I even enter them. My understanding was they all starts with SA and it rejects it the moment I enter first digit "S" even in incognito browser mode?
      Please advice, I am very curious to know why as it spits out the code fine with the trade-up add with no issues. Thanks.

    Tried different browsers? I remember when I went to do it last year, that people had said it was a browser thing, so I had to fire up Edge

    • Tried them all, as per listing even incognito mode. Did work fine for my last trade-in few months back, no issues at all. Cheers

    Simple workaround for this will be.
    1. clear all the data and cache by going in the app setting and then Uninstall the App.
    2. Install the app again
    3. Go to the app setting and give all the permissions to the app
    4. Now open the app and follow all the instructions on trading on the phone.

    Let me know how it goes.

    • Thanks for your help, I actually end up locating 15% TCN cards and used them and bought from JB last nite just before they close with extended trading hours. Skrew Samsung for making it so difficult to buy from them directly. I will keep the hard earned vouchers for next time if/when they fix their problems.
