Can we combine Virtual Visa cards balance?

Hi all

Just wondering if we can combine the virtual visa/master cards balance? Had few leftover cards with couple of bucks here and there so was wondering if those can be consolidated?

Thanks

Usually, no. Prepaid Visa/MC gift card issuers usually bake into the terms and conditions a clause where you cannot ask them to consolidate small balances into a single card.

Can you add these virtual Visa/MC gift cards to a mobile wallet and use it in-store?

    • If so, the easiest thing to do (assuming you shop in-person) is to use multiple cards at the checkout when you pay for items at any of those stores. I have gone into more detail about this here. You can even use multiple cards to pay for a gift card at Coles (but not at self-service checkouts), Woolworths, BIG W or First Choice Liquor (to name a few examples).

    • If not, consider using them to prepay utility accounts (e.g. electricity accounts), telecommunications accounts or private insurance accounts (where possible). Alternatively, you can use them to top up Amazon or Apple account balances.

Certainly agree one of the easiest and most convenient thing to do is to go to Coles/Woolworths and buy Coles/Woolworths or any other Giftcards that are on promo (if not Coles/Woolworths GC)

  • Thanks, so can I add those cards to my Amazon account ?

    • You should be able to, unless:

      • Amazon AU has blocked some prepaid Visa/MC gift cards (which I doubt), or
      • The issuer for a given prepaid Visa/MC gift card has blocked Amazon AU.

There’s only one way to find out!
