Hi all
I'm looking for a new pair of smart casual shoes to purchase and wear to work on a Friday. What brands/shoes do you like to wear?
I got my first sketchers a couple of years ago and I now wear them all the time. Super comfy. When I get home they slip off in 2 seconds. For me tying shoelaces is so 2019.
Same, only problem I find is they don't wear well for a lot of walking. Great around the office and with a standing desk, not so great for the hour or hour and a half walking I did a day. That said, old pairs just become ones to wear around at home and take out the rubbish.
With working from home that's not a problem anymore, when I go for a walk I just slip on my runners.
I almost threw out my first pair (from 2019) a few weeks ago - they wore around my little toe. I asked my wife and she said don't be silly, they're now camping shoes. Damn right, I wore them just the other week at a night around the campfire - like slippers but better.
Toms are very good.
dont buy cheap ones, i have lots of $50 shoes i dont wear.
Yeah I'm thinking of buying a pair somewhere that falls into the $100-$150 price range after any discounts
Whatever that is comfortable for you to wear.
New Balance from their clearance section…
Josef Seibel! Really good shoes, but only available at select retailers.
Never heard of them, but I'll check them out! Thanks
It really depends on your clothing style, your gender and what your colleagues usually wear. If everyone is a sports buff and usually rock up in hoodies and gym wear then you know Adidas Ultraboost is suitable. If not, a clean pair of white shoes with a good pair of skinny jeans always work. My personal favourite for Fridays is Onitsuka Tiger.
I do like Onitsuka Tiger, will look into this further, thanks!
What sort of clothes and shoes do you like to wear? Or are you used to someone else buying clothes for you??
I love trackies, hoodies and sport shoes which aren't that suitable for a Friday in the office haha as everyone is more smartly dressed than that
brooks is good quality
better to buy something that'll last as opposed to cheapo $30-$50 shoes you gotta replace often
As above it really depends on what your work place classes as 'smart casual'.
I've been in work places where that meant no runners.
And then it gets blurred between runners and 'sneakers'
A little expensive but you get the barefoot feel

Those look interesting
My favorite for year were the Merrell Tough Glove - I've unfortunately actually worn though the soles I've worn them so much
Could even get away with them in more formal settings

I have Vivobarefoot ra lux for work which definitely passes for office attire.
Do you feel as though your feet get easily tired after wearing these?
@[Deactivated]: By tired you mean you get all your foot muscles working? Don't think it's much different to having bare feet all week when I am working from home.
Just get some Vans old skools or Adidas Stan Smiths and call it a day
Cheap one time use? Kmart / Target.
