North Face Big Shot Backpack Chili Pepper/Grey for $91 AUS Incl. Delivery

20

Basically, a great quality backpack for a great price. Put the item in the basket, select Australia as delivery destination and the VAT of 20% is taken off, reducing the price from 72 pounds to 60 pounds. I think they have about 8 in stock - all other colours sold out. There is no real expiry as it is a shop and the normal price so I just put until the end of July as I am sure by then it will have sold out.

From their website:

I just ordered this backpack a little while ago and it's really good, plus only $56: http://www.ozgameshop.com/backpacks/targus-15-4-city-gear-no…

Plenty of compartments, good padding for both laptop and a tablet, 3 large compartments plus a couple of smaller ones. It's designed for a 15.6" laptop, but honestly I'd be surprised if you couldn't fit a 17" one in there. Can check them out at JB HiFi (just don't pay JB's $129 price).

The Targus backpack is very different. Did you buy both backpacks?

    • why is it very different? there are so many backpacks…..

      • +5

Well, the bargain is for North Face. Then stating that another different backpack is cheaper is like comparing an apple with a banana. Yes, they are both fruits (and backpacks) but clearly they are not the same. You would not compare an IPad with the Optus Mytab or would you?
And yes, dimensions are different, the Targus backpack is a laptop backpack and hence has no hydration port while the North Face one has and so on.
And of course there are many backpacks that do a similar job but the bargain is for this model, not for others and hence a general comparison of the whole subject of backpacks is not really warranted or useful here.

Did I neg the deal? All I did was show an alternative. You might think a general comparison of backpacks is not warranted, but in a world where not everyone knows every backpack that's available, showing alternatives is often helpful.

I agree but then you cannot compare. There are many car brands and models out there but saying that a mid-size Holden costs less than a mid-size BMW or Jaguar kind of misses the point, right?
And they are actually different products - the Targus backpack is a LAPTOP back, the North Face backpack is for actual hiking/walking/being out in nature. It will show when you put a lot of weight in there - the North Face seams are very strong. I have had mine for 16 years now and used it on an almost daily basis and it is still going strong even after having it filled full of books!

        • "Then stating that another different backpack is cheaper is like comparing an apple with a banana."

Wait, are bananas on special? where… been a while since a banana special was posted ;)

        • They are - for 50 cents a kilo but I won't tell you where!

Gallifrey, CarbonTwelve didnt mean to compare that cheaper alternative to TNF. he simply provided another option.

there are thousands of backpacks. you may be a FAN of TNF, but there are many top rated brands around other than TNF. among them, there is NOT much difference. it is purely personal preference.

  • it says $102 for me.
    Which part did i miss?

  • The link takes you to the page with a price of 60 pounds. Put that into www.oanda.com (EU's official currency converter) and out comes $90.96 AUS.
    Is that what you did?
Just click on the checkout button at the right. The backpack is already in the basket.

  • North Face is a great brand for adventure gear but for backpack.. meh. You can buy black wolf or targus backpack for $50-$100 on sale locally.
