Tossing up between this and the Sony x90j. Which one is better?

Don't have it, but tit's on my watchlist.
The TCL should be superior or at least on par in almost every respect.

Price/Size - TCL is cheaper (or you can buy a larger size for similar money to a smaller Sony)
Software - TCL's Google TV version is reportedly more feature rich
Picture Quality - Brightness, Black levels, Bloom minimisation are all better on the TCL

Gaming features - On par

Possible exception is upscaling quality as Sony is generally fairly highly regarded in this area.
And of course brand cachet, and alleged quality benefits of Sony.

  No don't watch sport on it sorry. I do a bit of gaming on it and it looks great. Paid just over $2000 for the 65". The Google TV interface is very snappy and looks great
