Looking to get one for my wife in next couple of days, should I wait for Black Friday?

I strongly recommend avoid using GC's and use a CC with some sort of insurance Protection plan on it.

Although I personally find Surface products to be excellent quality, had no problems with my surface book2 for 3 years almost (other than shorter battery life)
