  • I'm waiting for a watch that has built-in capability for continuous glucose monitoring (GCM). There seems to be apps that do it, but they rely upon an extra device for the glucose detection. This feature has been "coming" for some time….. it needs to be here now. Not buying a new watch until this feature is properly included. It might end up being the Apple Watch 8 series (but still rumours). A number of watches are "credited" falsely with already having this capability, but the evidence is that it requires third party hardware; I would be happy to be proven wrong, but I'm pretty sure about this.

    • How do devices do that though, stick a little needle into you?

This tech has been coming for a long time, as I said. The above video is just a prototype, but it's actually getting closer!

        • Wow that's awesome. Any wearable had that (at an affordable price) I'd buy straight away.

Thank you so much for posting this ! It prompted me to check the Fenix 6s Pro Gold and White model - I have been waiting AGES for a sale for it, nearly gave up and got it full price and suddenly it’s half price at JB ($574)

    Thanks heaps !!

    • isn't this a lot better though?

      • +2

Not for a small female wrist - this one is massive

Not a lot better, but it does have better battery life (25 hour in GPS vs 60 hour in GPS), it should have a bigger screen (more visibility - 42mm vs 51mm) and it should be lighter too (61g vs 93g). The features between the two should be exactly the same, except that the 6S has the menstrual cycle tracker built in.

It all honestly depends on preference, use case, and/or how you want the watch to fit on your wrists. I used to own a 6X and I found it too big for me, so I sold it after a fair bit of use.

        EDIT: added 'use case'.

If this had all the features of galaxy watch 4, like nfc, making calls and so on would get this in a heartbeat

      It has so much more.
It's more of a pro fitness and outdoor lifestyle watch.

It does have garmin pay also.

      • “So much more” in the fitness / activity department, but “so much less” in the smart watch department. I have exact model (I thought I got it for cheap at $999 a while back), love the watch, but it’s pretty basic when it comes to smart-ness.

    In in in,

This is the price drop that ive been waiting for!

If youre on the fence this is it :D

Don't forget shopback for amazon. They have 7.5% for watches, cash reward's only 6% I believe.

    • Don't they classified as "smart watches" "fitness tracker" its only 2%

      • I think you might be right. I just got my update and it was only $13 cash back. Shouldn't have splurged on that extra band…

don't worry too much about it man, as long as you enjoy it. it's one hell of a "smart watch"/ fitness tracker!
