Supermarket brand milks are watered down and contain permeate
Thank a lots for your suggestion.
so does pura milk, so if the other supermaket brand is cheaper then there's no difference really.

does anyone know what "permeate" is, it's obviously not straight water they are adding.
It's a waste product of the cheese making process.
Milk is milk. It comes from cows.
The "mix" of processed milks is primarily reliant on the dairy facility that it is processed in, not the label on the (virtually identical) contents.

They are not watered down. All "generic" milks contain permeate to normalise the mouth feel of the product, so that there are not seasonal differences in the taste and fat content of the product.

haven't really worked this out, but I'm assuming milk powerder would be cheaper.
I use it for my ovaltine drink. i dont like to add cold milk as the drink get luke warm.
so just add ovaltine and lots of milk powerder so its hot and milky!milk powerder
Not sure what that is, but if you mean Powdered Milk then that is not the same as real milk. It tastes completely different.

Ovaltine and milk powder? Can't work out how that ends up being milky, because I reckon it would be dry and gritty. Do you snort it, or use a spoon? LOL
Dont forget water…
I sometimes buy the coles 2 liter for $2 milk, another name I jokingly call it is plebe milk.
I just use it for coffee and afew other things, I don't drink it or use it on cereal though, I use Cleopatra's Bath Milk for drinking, you can buy it from some health stores, it costs $8.50 for 2L but I think it is worth it.
You can see the high quality of the milk here and you are helping the little guys.
http://www.angelfire.com/folk/rawmilk/page2.htmlOa the price is quite out of my pocket. As I see on the label said for Cosmetic skin treatment only. Thanks for your mention
Can't you just buy Coles milk given the tight budget. Beggar can't be chooser!.
