Uniquemobiles got these handset atm:
Samsung Galaxy Ace is going at $202
HTC WIldfire S for $174
will be using my virginmobile sim.
Will these mobile work? and are these best option to me for my budget?
* Samsung Galaxy Ace at $202
* HTC WIldfire S for $174
These 2 phones from Uniquemobiles.com.au use the Voda / Telstra 850mhz network.
Virgin = Optus network, so you shoud get a Yes G mobile, not NextG.
Wouldnt the Lg Optimus One for <$100 be better value than the HTC Wildfire? Both seem to have very similar specs, main diff is that the HTC has a slightly better camera, but ~$80 more.

Some people complained about the LG having issues with performance. I don't know if that still applies, because only 4 months ago LG released a Gingerbread update for the phone (long overdue!)
It is a better buy than the HTC Wildfire, that's what I think.
Close to the $200 mark, I would rather get a Samsung Galaxy Ace.
you could always buy second hand.http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-mobile-phones/sydney/c18597l3003435
Get the Huawei X3 for $69 from Woolworths, sale start from tomorrow. Its unlocked to Vodafone but you can buy unlock code from eBay for approx $10-$12. Try your luck, you might get the code free from Vodafone unlock website
Very happy with the Huawei Ideos X3 8510-7 I got last week from UniqueMobiles for $95. It's logo'ed to Vodafail but unlocked…has Android 2.3, came with 2 gb MicroSD. Running on Optus no probs (and moving to Live Connect/Optus this week).
bugga they've put the price up
Try Woolie mate, I have bought one this morning for $69 and got unlock code free from Vodafone Website
Does it have any offline maps with navigation? Many thanks.
Use NavFree from the Android market.
DARN that sucks!!! lol People talk about getting free unlocking on the voda site but I've never been able to jag it.
hi Sella,
Why dont you try LG Optimus E900? I bought it few week ago through Catch of the day with $164 total included delivery. Now at COTD on massive clerance sale such as this phone & other stuff. I think this phone quite impress , its have wifi, touch screen, email, radio…
You forgot to mention this phone runs Windows Phone 7 — not Android.
thank for reminding me :)
Never had the phone to know whether it's any good or not, but would the Galaxy5 that Woolies has half price for <$50 be worth OP considering? It's locked to telstra, but there is no doubt cheap unlocking available.
Locked to Telstra probably means it is the 850MHz variant and therefore will only work in metro areas on Optus.

Network comaptabity? If you want somehting that does 850mhz (telstra/vodafone) and Optus 900mhz then i think your budget is a little low, bet here it goes…
The HTC EXPLORER does 850/900/1800/2100 & is $1 on a 12month recharge from redbullmobile, $129 from Vodafone and around $199 unlocked from allphones outright. Its by far the cheapest andriod that does all freq (unlock fee's vary but usallyy free after a single recharge of sufficient value).
