EB Games - Buy One Get One Free - Instore Only

240

not sure if it has been posted, yes I have searched, but tired oversights do occur!

It, unfortunately, is instore only, but is still a good deal, I saw it at the local store the other day, and saw the pdf tonight so thought I would post it.

Unsure when it ends, but it could be soon, so get in quick, the eligible games are in the pdf, not going to list them.

They've marked up the prices on all of the games on the deal that you'd prob find them cheaper if you shop around though.

    • Can't really comment on that, I didn't personally check out the prices, if I am near tomorrow I will. Regardless though, it is a BOGOF, which is essentially <50% off of the marked cost.

    • Surely that is illegal?

      • +2

No… Officially their previous prices were discounted, and now it's buy 1 get 1 free without the discount. Might be misleading, but not illegal.

        • +4

youll find their prices are always somewhat discounted.
I remember a few years ago (not sure if its still the case) i wanted to buy the Diablo Battlechest.

Everyone had it for ~$40, EB games had it HaLf Pr1c3!omGz! from $80 down to $40

    • You'll almost certainly get them cheaper electronically regardless of any markup-markdown.

  • This really depends a lot on what the original marked price of the games are. If they're using the full RRP, this isn't a good deal — 50% off the full Australian RRP is still pretty expensive. If the games are already cheaper than that before applying the BOGOF deal, then there might be a decent deal in there somewhere.

You are right, I will have a look tomorrow and get back to you guys regarding that, if I am around.

  • +1

they have marked games up to $99.01 at my local EB, up from the normal price of 40-70ish
not a bad deal on a couple of titles, but terrible on the rest

    • +2

Only one I saw that was good was child of eden which was $29. Couldn't see anything else that was good. Assassins Creed Reveleations for $99 was just ridiculous.

  • +1

I had a look yesterday…nothing of interest, and yeah, all games are full RRP.

  • yeah like fifa12 with full 99.95 before buy one free one. 50 for it IF you get another 100 dollar game not really that interested

Some pre-owned games at EB are cheaper new… LOL

    • +1

Bring the preowned to the counter, they will sell it at $5 less then the new copy.

      • When you ask for it.

      • +3

My local EB has argued against changing preowned prices when brand new is less so many times. It's common sense that it should be cheaper.

        • +1

Oh please, OF COURSE you should pay for the privilege of playing a game I once owned!

Saw this at eb the other day, ended up purchasing child of eden and darksiders for $29, $14.50 each was a decent deal.

  • Bought two copies of Cooking Mama 4 for the 3ds @ $69. A little cheaper than online and I didn't have to wait for delivery. The Sims 3 expansions and stuff packs are also slightly cheaper than Big W, JB, etc at $39 and $19 for two, respectively.

  • They had 3x used titles for $40 when I was there last week. 6 half decent games for the wii for $80 was pretty good. It's actually the first time I've ever bought games from a store. Looked on eBay and were no cheaper.

  • ooo they trade apple products i got an apple nano i havnt opened yet but could prob get more money from ebay lol

  • For an example, most of the titles that are in JB's 2 for $40 list are marked at $39 at EB now. So if you picked two of those, it's no better a deal than what JB has all the time. BOGOF sounds good, but it's EB… hardly ever a real sale in there.

    • +1

This is OzBargain. If it's 2 for $40 at JB, and buy one get one free for $39 at EB, then it's a deal :)

      • True. Id still rather giving patronage to jb then eb though…

  • +2

Can't remember the last time I bought anything from EB.

  • EB Games is expensive… unless you manage to get them to price match…
