    Thank you!

It's not, Big W uses this service for their prints.

I googled big w photos and gone through the website it doesn't link into this website.

        • +7

Go here and press create now, it goes to the exact same site.

@doweyy: Thanks I didn't go that far. All good thanks for the info

@maaz: You might want to remove your neg ;)

Click a bit further, you will get there :)

    • It’s the correct website. The Big W Photos canvas creator tool is hosted at fujifilmimagine.com. If you go to Big W Photos’ website directly, select one of the canvas products and select “Create Now”, it’ll take you to the same website.

For a second there I thought that it was cheap because who wants a pic of someone else’s baby

    • +2

Make your visitors think you have a massive family; with many generic wedding and baby photos! Try and collect them all!

      • What visitors?

        • make you think you have a lot of visitors with many generic photos of random people you think would be the kind of people you want to visit. Add them to a mannequin head for extra fun

  • +1

Can anyone comment on the quality of these please? For a very long time, I have been intending to get canvases of my children when they were babies.

    • +1

I've had some done (albeit small, 8x8 IIRC) was very happy with the quality and finish - granted I don't have another company's canvas prints as a reference point :-)

    • +3

have some from bigw previously, they're good quality, but no need to rush for this deal as you can get them for cheaper, delivered at any time : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/11352303/redir

How does the software compare to BigW? I know the Fuji software used by BigW to create/upload pics is pretty poor/frustrating

        • +2

umm it's not great software either, but it does the job… i also usually only make less than 3 canvas at a time, and i usually edit them on my computer before uploading the final pic just for printing - so I really only use the provided online software minimally.

@lawyerz: How many megapixels were the files that you used to get an acceptable print?

            • +1

@orly: Didn't experiment with diff MP, but my camera takes 16MP photos.

      • Thanks, I have no pictures hung yet in my new place, was wondering whether I should jump on this deal. I'll just wait until I've worked out exactly what I want then.

        • Print some of your own photos, I find, has a special meaning to you then :)

          • @lawyerz: I've printed previously and it looked great, but didn't know what to do with them so just chucked them in a pile in the cupboard haha

I bought two about 5-6 years ago. They haven't faded and were in direct sun for a few years. I personally prefer the Aus Post canvases now as they come in a bigger size (to me a canvas print should be as big as possible). Being canvas, they don't show a whole lot of detail so if you want to show off how sharp a lens is, I recommend metal prints from Kaieda: https://www.kaieda.com.au/collections/metal-prints

    • +1

I've had some canvases done by DG canvases for comparison (not affiliated) and they were noticeably sharper. Not sure if it's because of the printing or because Fuji have their software in the middle. Don't get me wrong the Big W/Fuji ones were good too given the typical canvas viewing distance.

(This is all from years ago now so things could have changed)

They're pretty crap. Cheap wood frames held by staples. Print quality is poor, if you've had nice ones. If you've never seen anything else, then you won't notice.

I guess imagine sometime whose never eaten anything but McDonald's. Bring them to hungry jacks, they'll think you've brought them to a quality establishment, as good as anything they've ever eaten.

Photobookclub has 40x60cm canvas DELIVERED for $36 as their standard price available all year round (moves +/- $5 throughout the year), and I've made over 10+ large canvas prints (usually 50x100cm or 100x100cm) with them, and have made 1-2 bigw ones too, and they're basically equally good quality. I'd highly recommend them.

yes my house looks like a gallery and I've been given cease and desist order by the other half.

    • thanks for sharing, might give them a go - where do they ship from and how quick are they to produce them?

      • They're based in Reservoir VIC according to google maps, turnaround times have been quite fast.

Looking at my past latest orders, 4-6 days between submitting the order and it being shipped (maybe slower around christmas time?), and they use the courier Ararat for delivery so they shouldn't be stuck in some insane AusPost backlog either. Probably another 2-3 days to get to you (or probably longer if you're not in VIC)

  • Random, but has anyone ever tried picking some artsy photos and printing them? Does it look good at all?

    • As long as you use high res photos they look pretty good. I've printed two large canvases and they turned out as good as I hoped, with pretty vibrant colours.

    • +3

Keep. In mind that canvas prints a bit darker.
If you can, bump up brightness via exposure or lift shadows a bit before you print.

    • +2

I've just ordered a couple artsy ones to be printed:
      Villers - Young Woman Drawing
      Turner - The Grand Canal
Got the images from Wikipedia at over 20MP resolution - fingers crossed!

      • +1

Those aren't just artsy haha they are absolute works of historical and highly acclaimed and studied works of art!

        • +2

They're two of my absolute favourites 😍
Was so lucky to have seen them when The
Met loaned them to Brisbane recently.

        • +1

Haha you seem to be a grammar and an arts expert.

          • @dealman: Not really! I should have said "they are absolute works of historical, a̶n̶d̶ highly acclaimed and studied works of art!

    • I've just printed a pic from unsplash.com - high resolution free photographs. Just something for the wall in the office.

      • I recommend unsplash.com also. Use them for all my website and presentation photos.

  • Is it easy with big W to get the borders right? I remember printing a few photos off at hardly normal self serve booths and some of them were unusable.. stakes are higher at $39 a pop..

  • +1

Any idea when this offer ends? I have to touch-up a photo that I'd like to get printed, but need to know how urgent it is/

    • From what I can see on the BigW site - 24th Nov

      • So you purchase the coucher, then apply the "voucher" code to a project order?

        • Yep! Like a promo code at checkout

          • @lawyerz: Thanks. Are you associated with ThePhotoBookClub?

            • @12kahs: Nope! Just made many, many prints with them and for the price difference, bigw and Harvey Norman prices seem absurd in comparison.

I started with one print, sceptical af because it was so cheap compared to bigw/Harvey Norman. But it turned out well so I made another. Then another. Then another lol.

  • Can anyone comment on the quality, specially compared to Harvey Norman? I've printed on canvas at Harvey Norman before and found that the prints were significantly darker than what I sent for print. I was extremely disappointed with them even though it was cheap. I know Harvey Norman also use Fujifilm printing so I am wondering if it'll turn out the same.

  • does anyone know where can I buy a good glass frame for an A0 canvas?

Aussie Post canvas prints are good quality. I got a couple at the start of the year. Their 16"x24" is $33.55 (plus 5 bucks postage).

    https://auspost.com.au/shop/product/personalised-canvas-pers…

I splashed out on their biggest one (60x40"/152x101 cm), paid a little extra for the floating wooden border. Looks boss.

    • Too bad they don't "C&C" for their own stuff?

    • Good grief! The AU Post has the 40 x 60 @ 117.50 vs. Big W @ $400!!!

That deserves a deal post in itself, imho.

    • dammit… I wish I had seen this before placing the BigW order. Apparently I cant cancel once the order is placed

  • What is the best size for a 4mb photo?

  • Ordered 4 days ago, still not received the email to collect the item. It said "next day", but it has been 4 days. Sent email to support yesterday, no one answered.

    • Same. Nothing for my canvas order yet.

I did order a bunch of 6x4 photo prints off big w too, they were available next day but the email was in my spam folder so I missed it till yesterday. Check your spam folder too.

      • Thanks. I just checked and nothing there :( So sad.

  • Reasonable value for money, and metal and glass prints were also on special. From memory the different types are usually all on special at the same time.

I got a 20x40" canvas but it was not perfectly straight (very minor crookedness). Just accepted it as I didn't have time to seek a replacement.
