Seeking Advice - International or Weird Lollies

So I wanted to surprise my fiance by getting her a heap of unique, weird and international lollies/candy she hasn't tried before for christmas and I was wondering if anybody could recommend an online candy shop.
Being in NW Tasmania, we don't have a huge range of options for local lolly shops that I could go to so was wondering where would be good to order from (and not bank breaking).
Any advice would be great,
Thanks!

This one has one of the largest global selections. Expect a huge markup and delivery fees.

    • Cheers, I'll check it out.
I've just been going through so many looking for the best deals/variety but I get that there probably isn't some amazing single solution to this.

I'll bring you some from UK when get back around March if you can wait that long.

You'll have to define what types you want though. Lollies means ice cream there.

        • Sorry, I guess when I mean lollies I mean like hard/soft candy, gummies or chocolates. Confectionary or sweets might be the better term for it! Thanks for the offer but I wouldn't want to put anyone out of their way :)

Not sure if they offer a delivery service but these 2 places have a good range of international lollies and candy.. maybe you can speak to them and arrange something.

Amazon sell quite a few international foods and candies. The only trick is knowing what to buy.

    • Good call, I had a quick look on there now. Unfortunately some of the things that I thought might be good were out of stock. Will keep an eye on it. Thanks!

If there are any Asian grocers nearby, you could check them out as they usually have a snack/lolly section. These are the types of snacks/lollies you might expect to find there: https://asianpantry.com.au/collections/snacks

    • Good idea, thanks! I know there is one 15 minutes down the road. I'll go check them out!

Hope they stock a decent range!

The Reject Shop is another physical store that could be worth trying if it’s not too far. They’ve got a British Favourites confectionary section on their website (no idea how popular these actually are in Britain). Probably worth giving your local a call to see if they have them before heading there. https://www.rejectshop.com.au/c/groceries/british-favourites

And in case it’s not on your radar yet, pics of this shop in northern Tas suggests it sells some imported lollies. Again, probably worth giving them a call first…

or if there's a Daiso near you, they often have a heap of lollies.. They have these sour lollies which are 100x worse than Warheads

    • There isn't unfortunately. Not much choice down in Tas.

You can get these at a lot of different online stores (including Amazon), so just have a look around, but definitely try Parma Violets for something different. I was given some as a kid from a family member in the UK once, and I've loved them ever since. They're strange (taste like flowers!) but really good. Worth a try. :)

Having just looked for them on Amazon, I came across Parma Violet gin. I know what I'm buying myself for Christmas…

    • I just had a look at the Parma Violets, they are definitely going on the list, thanks!

  • There are a number of online candy shops that offer unique and international candy options. Here are a few recommendations:

Sweetsworld.com.au - They offer a wide variety of candies from around the world, including Japanese Kit Kats, Mexican candy, and British chocolates.

Darrell Lea/Kards & Kandy - This shop specializes in nostalgic candies from the past, but also offers a selection of international treats and unusual flavors.

jMaL Sweets - This candy boutique features gourmet and luxury candies from around the world, including champagne gummy bears and chocolate-covered almonds.

Amazon - You can also find a wide variety of international candies on Amazon. Be sure to read the reviews and check the seller's ratings to ensure a good experience.

World Market - This retailer has a selection of international candies available online, as well as in-store if you have one nearby.

Keep in mind that shipping costs and times may vary depending on your location and the shop you choose. Also, be sure to check the ingredients and allergen information before ordering, in case your fiance has any dietary restrictions or preferences. Good luck with your candy shopping!
