Online Stores That Have The Stock They Say They Have

Wondering about other people's experiences with online stores, which stores always have the stock they say they have and which let you buy unavailable stock.

Some bad examples, I've found both Chemist Warehouse and Big W let you pay for items and then will say they're out of stock. I know this happens with Coles online too but I give them a bit of slack as it is a supermarket.

Stores in my experience that always have what is purchased online:
* JB Hi-Fi
* Appliances Online
* Officeworks
* The Iconic
* Myer
* Adore Beauty

I would also say iHerb is pretty reliable, I've only had 1 product be unavailable after payment out of 20 or so orders over the years.

Which stores have you found to be good or bad with this?

    You could go to a shopping centre and check they have stock, buy the goods, and take it home.

      I often can't do this having to rely on public transport and being disabled.

    Amazon?

      Amazon and its FBA only sells what they have on hand. Heard they also even stock check from time to time to reduce stock discrepancy issues

    "Sorry, it must be on the pallet"

    This is the phrase Kmart staff always say when the online stock level doesn't match up with the in-store reality.

    My girlfriend and I have heard it so often now that it's become a running joke. Can't find something at home like a missing sock - it must be on the pallet. Waiter forgot our drink order - it must be on the pallet. Friend running late for a meet-up - she must be on the pallet.

    Anaconda is pretty bad.. about half the items I order is not in stock

    Woolworths usually have a few bits and pieces not in stock. Last week half the order was not supplied and my $20 off $120 discount ended up $20 off $60 :)

    I've given up on KMart online. I order something and a few weeks later they refund my payment saying that I cancelled the order.

    I just had 2 of 3 orders cancelled from the Myer-CashRewards promo sale on Friday despite the 'indicative' stock level showing stock at that store for many days prior.

    Target also did the same, with stock showing 'instore ready for pick-up next day', but come order-processing, I get an email a few days later saying orders been delayed and stock is getting shipped/transferred to store.

    Take these online stock indicators for the indicative things that are. You're better off checking online then going in store to buy

    • Geez, that's bad luck with Myer, I've ordered from them probably around 10 times over the years when they've had sales and cashback was high and have got everything from the orders.

    Rivers is terrible. They're not only useless when it comes to their delivery times (both orders lately have taken over 2 months to arrive - still waiting for some of the last one!) but their customer service is robotic (copy/paste answers, which don't actually answer the questions!) and then they hit you with "Sorry, those items are out of stock". Well, they probably weren't when I ordered them, but yeah, 2 months later that doesn't surprise me…

    yep both items i recently purchased was "in stock" online and then once they had my money it was oh its a 5 week wait by the way…yeah thanks

    Adidas online are shocking when they have sales it took them 1.5 weeks to realise they over sold stock and just refunded me didn't want to put me on back order or pull stock from a store and obviously the sale ended so couldn't get a different pair
