Best value E-Scooter to buy?

Hi all, with escooter becoming legal in WA soon. What's the best brand and bargain out there for one, preferably one from brick and mortar shop? I guess waiting for black friday sale will be good? Thanks

Xiaomi Pro 2 is probably one of them.

    • Yea, always a small admirer of Xiaomi since their powrbank days.. Shame jb hifi don't stock the standard version, only the AMG version.

  • The Scooter Hut has a pretty good range in-store and more online, plus they have a couple of stores in Perth - https://scooterhut.com.au/electrics

    • Thanks! Wonder how good is the Okai ES500

  • See the upcoming Black Friday Wednesday deal from Aldi.

    • Mind link me? Couldn't find it

      • Here is catalogue:

$400, identical specs to the $650 NineBot ES2

        Discussion here:

        • I wonder how easy it is to source parts in future? So just a generic brand of ninebot equivalent?

        • Doesn’t look like the Segway ninebot ES2 at all. The Segway is 12.5 kg the Aldi one seems around 14.5kg based on the link in your discussion thread. The Segway also has smaller wheels among other things.

          • @goobar: Would you say the Aldi eScooter is good value, based on the limited information they've provided?

            • @Kangal: Yeah specs id say almost on par with xiaomi pro 2, which seems to have been on sale for $620 recently (current price $699), or xiaomi scooter 3 currently selling lowest around $650.

No idea on build quality though, and doesn’t seem like Aldi have sold this model before so no reviews.

  • aldi same body parts as xiaomi but they use cheaper controller and batteries to keep prices down.

    • Nah, I'd rather not aldi after much research.. Currently waiting for ninebot g30 to go on sale

      • Can you explain your reasoning? The price is tempting for ALDI and if it is no good you can just take it back right?

        • You have to take it back to your within 90days right for refund right? Also, I wanna buy something with longer range, and more well known brand, so it's easier to get parts in future

          • @Lancerx: Thanks. 60 days, but for me I suppose I'll know if it is good enough or not well before that.

  • Did anyone manage to nab an Aldi one this morning? They were all sold out by the time I got there at 9.15. There seemed to be some discrepancy between Aldi's advertised specs and the manufacturers page, but still looked like a good buy for $399. Curious to know how they stack up.

    • I got it, though not sure I can provide any context as I have nothing to compare against. Seems good quality and sturdy.
