It seems in the US, you can get credit card annual fee refunded if you cancel the card within 37 days of the fee being charged to the account. I am just wondering if the same is applicable here in Australia?

Not their policy but talk to the retention team.. They used to have periodic offers on the account like annual fee waivers..
isnt it illegal now to offer incentives to stop customers cancelling credit cards?
The USA allows capital punishment, I wonder if the same can be applied here.
The US has many bored and silly people, and we have one here.
FWIW, I recently cancelled my citi credit card about 30 days after I was charged the annual fee.
The rep had to "seek approval" and they came back a few days later saying fee was to be refunded.

did product transfer to a no annual fee card under 2. months they only pro rata refunded it
I have recieved refund from commonwealth and Westpac when i cancelled my credit card within 3 months of renewal. No idea abt the citibank though.
I closed my account a month ago, i called up and told them when i closed my account the lady promised me a pro rata refund. The guy said sorry i cant find the refund ill process a full annual fee refund for you now :)
