There might be some good Apple TV discounts soon, there seems to be heavily discounting in the US.

  • Is this the new-fo-2021 model with the improved remote?

    • Yep the 4K 2021 is the current model.

  • I did a digidirect order today through Klarna and no email received that they will cover final instalment. Received straight away with adore beauty and ozsale orders

  • Does anyone know if the $50 cap is per account or per brand?

And welcome to the walled garden…

The only 3 reasons to get an Apple TV are:

      • You really like Apple Arcade, and don’t want to buy an Xbox or PlayStation
      • You want to use a fitness app like Fitness+, Peloton, iFit, Zwift, etc on a TV with your Apple Watch
      • You want to present from a MacBook wirelessly

Far better UI than anything else on market.
        Infuse!!!

        You missed two bigger ones

          Yeah.

And also it’s one of the few devices that properly supports Dolby Atmos.

I could never get it to work on my old Chomecast Ultra despite technically supporting it.

Also realistically what non App Store apps do you want on a streaming device. The only thing I can think of is emulators. And if you want that get a Nvidia TV or Xbox.

          • @blackfalcon53:

            Properly supports Dolby Atmos

Rofl. It only supports compressed dolby atmos. That is the exact opposite of what I was consider "proper support"

            https://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&i…

This includes Dolby Atmos but only compressed in Dolby Digital Plus. There is still no option for bitstream output of Atmos in Dolby TrueHD. There is no official support for DTS either but premium apps – like Infuse – can unlock DTS and Dolby TrueHD (without Atmos) for local media as part of your subscription plan that covers royalties.

Also have to pay for an recurring subscription to get uncompressed audio as well (custom apps only).

If you want actual proper support, then an NVIDIA shield is the way to go.

Lol get serious. They’re a great media box for steaming. Even more so if you’re in the Apple ecosystem

Hard disagree, We don’t do any of those things you mentioned and we love the Apple TV, it just works, the UI is simple and my wife just likes it. We have a $3.5k tv and we cannot be arsed using the software on the tv.

Why system doesn’t allow me to pay via Klarna? It is said this option is not available. Anyone knows why?

i hate these damage your credit rating to get a few bucks off deals.

Agree there. If you are planning to get a home loan or similar in the near future, avoid applying for these kind of credit or churning credit cards for bonus points.

  • Anyone received the order? Mine still shows "processing" ….
