My wife needs a new MacBook Pro. She accidentally spilt coffee on yesterday and it is now playing up. She is due for a new one anyway.
Any known specials or specials coming up? Ideally need one ASAP!

Heads up that Apple don't verify anything for education pricing. I bought a new MBP 14 M1 Pro yesterday through the education store and picked it up from the Southland Apple Store. I'm not a student or teacher.
Not fussed, my wife is a teacher anyway.

This is slightly less than the standard HED store, for Macs.
As mentioned, Apple 'doesnt' verify. But sometimes they do. But that is very rare by all accounts.
Thanks, I'll take a look.
On this topic, has anyone ever had Apple check this. I ask because I don't know anyone who has ever been asked so I wonder if it's just an urban myth.
I've seen a couple accounts on the interwebz. People said they ended up checking, and obvs couldn't provide the proof, so Apple cancelled their orders.
Thanks for that link! I'm a student buying an Air M1 soon, thats saved me $50 over regular edu store.
Remember Apple does back to school deals such as free AirPods, so that’s another $200 off if you sell them. If you can wait until then.
In what month do they do school deals?
@Mighty man: January
Are you looking at M1 MacBook Pros or the newer M1 Pro/Max MacBook Pros?
Probably just the M1 Macbook Pros.
I'm not aware of any current M1 MacBook Pro sales at the moment, so if you want to save money, you'll probably want to go down the discounted gift card route…
Check this comment that I wrote for someone else yesterday.
In summary:
When you order through the AOC Union, do they check any of your credentials if you get it delivered at home?
@emresound: As far as I am aware, if they audit your order, they will audit your order before they dispatch the order.
Is there a cap on how many giftcards you can use in one transaction?
@cerealsmok3r: 8 per transaction.
If you want to use more than 8 gift cards in an online transaction, add the gift cards to your Apple Account Balance first, then use your Apple Account Balance to pay for the transaction at the checkout.
She only needs the Macbook Air then. Order through the education store.
Hi,
I'd need more details before commenting.
Was the coffee instant (or decaf) and it is the playing up "staying awake" when you press "Sleep" or worse is the MBP connecting with Windows?
Maybe detox would help?
Thanks for reaching out to OzB support at this difficult time, I'm glad we talked.
I’m in a similar although less urgent predicament. I’m moving up from a 2014 imac 27” 3.5ghz quad. Ideally something like the deal that was at the end of October was amazing. But if not, might have to have a look at gift cards.
Any ideas How many cards you can stack with gift cards?
With Coles it was 5 and you got lot flybuys points.
Education Store, or if you need one Today, probably Costco is your best no fuss option if you're a member. I got mine from there. Walk in - Walk out, a little bit of a discount (maybe a couple of hundred bucks)
