Cheapest Way to Get a 2nd Hand Fridge?

G'day Bargainers, 👋

I'm after a cheap fridge in my new apartment, could anyone recommend the best way to source one?

What I had in mind is to try to find a free or <$50 fridge on Marketplace and get someone on airtasker to help me move it for $70-$80

I wish a deal like this will pop up again in the next few days hahaha

    That's not less than $50……

    • and not "2nd Hand" ;)

      • ….yes….. Wouldn't mind another fridge for $50 that works and not broken or requires repairs on pickup because it was thrown out broken in the the first place which is why they're dumping them….

  • Garage sales esp with pp who are moving long distance and cant afford to take big bulky items

  • Join your local street bounty group on facebook and wait for a dumped fridge to come up in your area

  • Thanks for everyone's reply.

I spent pretty much the whole Friday and Saturday trying to find a fridge and finally got one and delivered today.

Got the HR6TFF223S Hisense for $100 with over 2years warranty remaining and arranged delivery for $80, so all up $180. Happy with my finding.

My experience: Any decent fridges that were free or way undervalued were quickly snapped up by people who had delivery ute ready to pick up. By the time I ask if its was available, the most common response was "sorry, someone is on its way to pick up"

I was very lucky to find the Hisense one within 17minutes of being posted and the seller was kind enough to hold it for me until I manage to arrange delivery.
