  • Tue 16 Nov: I used an OZB referral to Crypto.com, signed up, and completed the KYC.
I've received a referral code to forward to others

That evening, they email me about previous convictions or party to a lawsuit. Replied to the email with no (the truth)

It's now Thu 18 Nov, and the app still says Verification Pending after 2 days. For those already using Crypto.com, is this normal?

    • Update: just got approved on Day 4.

      • +1

Yes it's normal - if they were asking about convictions and lawsuits, they probably saw red flags if you share a name or address with a certain character…

  • Frustrating sign up process. crypto.com wants applicants to hold their passport and take a portrait photo, and with a slip written with something like: this is my proof of identification.
Gave up the application before this step.

    • That's not frustrating.
It's completely standard anti-money-laundering know-your-customer legislation - all the main (legally compliant…) crypto exchanges do this. Because they have to.

And so do you, if you want to join in.

    • It's free money.

Do the KYC and get rewarded or don't and get nothing.

  • Is there any limit on the amount that can be transacted ( or is it limited by any amount)and can we pay through sniip in places where it is not accepted like ATO and bills and to get the cashback?

Thanks for the info in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Pagu

    • +1

These workarounds get closed eventually, so it doesn't really matter whether Sniip works today or not. It might not work tomorrow.
Sign up because you accept the product as it is, not because you expect to be able to use workarounds…

Yes there are plenty of card limits, they're all clearly displayed on the fees and limits page. They're more than high enough for "normal" use.

Anyone else not seeing the AUD option on Fiat Wallet? Living in Australia (AU residential address) but holding (and KYCed using) a foreign passport. Debit card transactions kept getting bounced like Superballs. Support team absolutely useless. Bloody frustrating.

    • +2

holding (and KYCed using) a foreign passport

This means you have a foreign account matching your passport. AUD wallet is only available on AUD accounts.

You'll need to contact support and get them to fix the country of your account - you'll need AU Passport/DrivingLicence/Other to convince them to do this.

    • Did you manage to get your country changed? I'm having the same issue but no response from their support yet.

      • +1

It took about two weeks and 2 different support chats (first one got closed so I had to do everything all over again), but they did give me the AUD fiat wallet capability about 2 days ago. No need to give proof of AU residence.

        • It happened to me. I talked to their support team but nothing fixed. While Waiting, I re-installed the app and it was all good. Try it if anyone has same issue.

        • Finally got support to fix it for me too, was a painful wait but all sorted now. Yep was the same for me all they asked was if I was a resident, didn't need to give any proof.

          • @aprofessionalpirate: Thanks for the update - it sounds like they've softened the process a bit if you didn't need to prove citizenship 👍

  • Hey guys I checked my Crypto.com Exchange account on their website and this is what it shows..

    Current Staking: 5,000 CRO
    Available Balance: 1,272.43923936 CRO

In order to apply for the Jade Green/Royal Indigo card do I need to unstake it and then go through the card application process to stake it again?

    • Pretty sure if you go to the card tab and apply for jade/Indigo then it'll show you the steps you need to take to apply. One of the steps is to stake CRO and it should already be ticked.

      • Thank you, was just scared to press 'continue' unless I knew all the facts beforehand :)

        • Nope doesn't look like it will play nice.

Once I select the card (Indigo), then "purchase and hold CRO for 180 days" button, on the next screen it only gives me the option to add funds from Credit Card, External CRO Wallet, Wallet. In Wallet it only shows 452 CRO available not the 5000 CRO I already have staked. Does that mean I need to unstake?

          • +1

@Moo Deng: Exchange has nothing to do with the card account, it's a totally separate account. You've staked in a different product.

You'll need a second stake in the Crypto.com app to get a card. Or wait 179 days until your Exchange stake competes, then withdraw and transfer into the app, then apply for a card.

  • +2

Anyone else nervous about staking A$500 for 6 months with them to get this offer? Anyone experienced withdrawing to fiat with them?

    • What is there to be nervous about? It's only a small amount of money that is locked up for six months. Six months will go by pretty quickly when one doesn't think about it.

    • +1

Only if the CRO is static/rise, the $500 can potentially become less and less and you cannot sell it.

  • I must be very stupid!?! I can't find ANYWHERE on the webpage the sign up button to go any further! 🤔I click on the ruby card but nothing happens.
Or must I download the app to apply?

    • You have to download the app. It's not available on desktop. You can however trade on desktop using the crypto.com exchange (a separate app) after you've set up the main app.

  • +1

Was about to order the Ruby card, but checked there's a lot ONE star for it in Truspilot, about the missing deposits and hidden fees.
    https://au.trustpilot.com/review/crypto.com
I'm not sure if they are just stupid people or there's sth doggy in there… No one has bad experience with them yet?

    • For me being an existing HSBC customer of seven years, I was frankly pissed off that I didnt qualify for their 2% cashback card because I wasnt working (earning enough) because of COVID. So when I saw this Id figure why not since I wasnt earning cashback anyway, all I have is time to lose and money to gain.

Most of those people are also complaining about their own mistakes in sign up and then comparing this to their banks, which it is not.

  • Can anyone help, I just staked 500AUD - If my thinking is right, I only start getting the Spotify reimbursements and 2%CRO on purchases after the 6mth 500CRO stake period correct? Or does it potentially start after your card is initially approved and then backdated for purchases once you start adding funds onto it to spend?
    Thanks.

    • +1

As soon as you stake and you apply and receive your virtual card you can charge spotify to the account and it will be credited back as CRO. No need to wait 6 months first

      • Thanks old mate. 👍

  • +1

Seeing CRO rocket jumped 4 times in value within just a month, there's a high chance that it falls very soon (already did today). I'm really worried about what $500 CRO it will be after 6 months.

I'm happy to stack $500 BTC/ETH but hell no for unstable coins like CRO.

    • Could also be $2 in 6 months

  • Does paying Netflix and Spotify earn you 3% cashback as well?

    • +1

If you stake enough for jade/Indigo then yes. And you receive the cashback as CRO

      • With the reimbursement of Netflix and Spotify charges, are they also received as CRO or as AUD?

        • +1

You receive the cashback in CRO

  • Hi all, just came across this platform, I am more interested in the 10% P.A return on TAUD.

Please correct me if I am wrong, so I deposit $500 into CRO, and stake them for 6 months for a ruby tier.
    - Am I considered a Ruby tier right after staking CRO, or I will need to wait for 6 months?
    - Am I able to deposit more to purchase into TAUD, or I will need to wait until I became a Ruby tier?
    - Is there a limit for the 10% P.A return on TAUD for being a Ruby tier?

    Thanks in advance!!

    • +1
      • you'll be considered ruby straight after staking
      • you can transfer fiat into your wallet or crypto and then purchase TAUD. The rates are ruby and lower or jade/Indigo or higher, so you can do this right away
-not 100% sure on a max limit however you'll have to stake your TAUD for 3 months to get 10%. A flexible term yields 6% and a 1 month term earns 8%
      • Thanks for that.
Given TAUD is literally 1:1 to AUD, I can't see any significant risk to stake TAUD unless the platform went bankrupt, the 10% P.A seems too good to be truth LOL

  • I’ve just signed up to CDC on the app and all is fine. Just wondering if anyone also uses the desktop web version to trade? My App is set to AUD, but on my desktop, prices and everything is in USD. Is there a way to default it to AUD on the web, when viewing prices, making trades etc?

  • Do you have to transfer funds into the visa account to activate the card? Trying to activate the loungekey but keeps failing. I think they might try to put a small charge on the card which may be the reason it is failing if the balance is $0?

    • With a balance of $0 the card is useless - it's a prepaid card, so you need to add balance to the card in order to spend that money.
Yes you need balance to add to LoungeKey, Netflix, PayPal, etc etc - most services will test a small fee when you add a card for payment.

Haven't you already put balance into the card to buy groceries and other day to day items ?

      • No I plan to keep using my Qantas card for now, just signed up for the CRO bonus :)

  • So did anyone get the $35 bonus? I didn't.

    • Check how much CRO you have, it's given in CRO.

      • Is it the one that says ‘sign up bonus unlocked’? 246 CRO? That shows $US50? Wasn’t it supposed to be US$25 or AUD$35?

    • Says within 21 days of end of promotion which was Nov 30

  • How long does it take to received the physical card? Has anyone applied in November received the metal card?

    • Mine took 6~ days, sent from here in Victoria!

  • Um, how do I add money to my card? Its not quite clear.

  • +1

To add money to crypto.com go home > transfer > deposit > fiat > AUD (or set up an AUD fiat wallet if you haven't > from here you can use the details to payid or BPay into the account.
When your funds arrive you the select cards > top up > fiat wallet > enter amount

    • Oh man, this sucks. I could just pay into my revolut card from my HSBC debit card. I don't have a payid account, is that what NPP is? I guess I can do via bpay, but I was hoping for quicker xfer ability into the crypto visa card.

*Update - After googling and learning how to use payid, I spoke to HSBC and, unbelievably, they don't have bloody payid yet!😠
      Bpay it is..😑

      • Don't tell HSBC that it's for crypto. They'll shut the account down.

        • Shut my bank account down? For having the crypto app??

          • +1

HSBC reportedly bans customers from trading this Bitcoin-linked stock
Companies are buying Bitcoin. And banks are preventing people from trading the stocks of those companies.

HSBC Becomes The Latest Bank To Stop UK Clients From Sending Funds To Binance
By Brenda Ngari -August 3, 2021

A number of UK banks have taken steps in recent weeks to limit their customers’ ability to access leading cryptocurrency exchange Binance. HSBC has become the latest bank to tell its UK clients that it will block payments to Binance “wherever possible”.
            https://zycrypto.com/hsbc-becomes-the-latest-bank-to-stop-uk…

            • @rektrading: The first article isnt relevant as it's related to share trading of crypto stocks and the second is related to the UK HSBC branches, and binance rather than CDC. That said, I'll keep it in mind. Also it's a non issue since I'll xfer funds to another bank account that has payid and to pay with that since HSBC has NFI when they'll be getting it.

just got an email saying $35 will be credited by 21/12.

    • Came here to check if anyone got theirs yet. How long ago did you sign up? I signed up for the ruby card on Nov 30, just got my card today. No sign of the $35 campaign bonus yet though 🤷‍♂️

      • yeah I signed up on the 28th and got the card yesterday, haven't heard anything yet about the bonus…

      • signed up on the 29th Nov, card come a couple of days ago

  • Well - today is the day - let us know if you receive your reward, otherwise, we'll all get on to them tomorrow.

    Cheers

    • It could also be tomorrow due to time zone differences?

  • +1

    Anyone got their bonus yet?

  • +3

just got it then .. i think.. 46 CRO for competition reward … think that is it..

    • Out of interest, did you also use the signup/referral bonus? Should say towards the start of your CRO history.

      "Sign-up Bonus Locked/Unlocked"

  • Haven't got it yet.

It's not a competition though… that might not be it.

    • just talked with support, that 46 CRO is the $35 bonus,
      PS . i didn't do via referral

  • +3

Contacted support and was told for those who haven’t gotten the reward yet, there’s a bit of a delay. It should come through at the end of the week.

Crossing my fingers prices go down at the end of the week 😄

  • Did you folks get an email saying you will receive the reward?

    • +1

      I've gotten nothing

  • +1

Nothing here :(. no doubt it will conveniently be dropped in once the dip passes and its back over a dollar. aka less CRO for all.

  • +1

Still nothing for me. Not looking good Crypto.com…

  • +1

I still haven't received this $35 in CRO.

I contacted support and not sure if it was a real person. I provided the link to the promotion and the reply that I got was basically my referral had to stake CRO??

  • +2

    Man this is a "scam"….

Customer support said I am not eligible for this program because I entered a referral code.

    Customer support highlighted this quote:

"It is outlined in the blog that "The campaign is not valid with any other offers or promotional programmes. It is non-transferable and non-exchangeable for cash or any other items.""

    • +1

That's pretty ridiculous, the 2 have nothing to do with each other. Referral code only kicks in when using the exchange side. This campaign was for signing up for the totally optional card. Even after signing up with referral code the app was plastering the $35aud card sign up
I'm curious though, did you go the free card or stake also?

      • +1

I got the ruby card… I did say that they are two different "promotions". support is hopeless and won't listen to any justification you say. I even did suggest that at least give the higher reward between the two. So disappointed with CDC. I'm beginning to think this CDC is scam crypto.

The referral promotion is an ongoing thing , does that mean all promotions coinciding with refer a friend will not be valid?

        • +2

I double checked with chat on 10th of November and they said the bonuses stack. I just asked again then and they also said they stack. I encourage all of you to reach out to crypto.com chat again and ask for the $35 bonus. Dalenna from chat confirmed this today.

          • @OldGregg: Do you have a screenshot of these chats?

I've been told the same thing now - as a referral bonus was unlocked this promotion is no longer valid

          • @OldGregg: They are sticking with their decision. I am chatting with Bella and she said:

"I do apologize for the inconvenience and the misunderstanding which has occurred, but in this case the criteria for the campaign are not met."

  • +1

Really unhappy and disappointed with Crypto.com on this.

Shortly after signing up, I did ask support if I would be eligible for this bonus and support said yes it would be eligible for users who satisfy all the requirements. I replied back and said I did all that is required and no further conversation in the chat to even double check my account had the referral bonus.

I hope staying silent is not their strategy in signing people up.

  • +1

Tried several times with support, pointing out the reddit post above and this Ozb post, but getting no where unfortunately. If anyone has had any luck; a screenshot of the transcript, or any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

    • +1

Support has been useless for me, they asking me to write on a piece of paper my name, DOB and today’s date before they even attempt to help? That happen to anyone else every time they contact support?

      • That sounds painful. They've at least been responsive for me and I haven't had to jump through those hoops. But absolutely no luck at all getting the $35 promo.

  • +3

A senior rep reached out to me via the Crypto.com app and advised that the referral + $35 AUD promo doesn't stack. They apologised for previous operatives giving me incorrect advice. Unfortunately they will not be applying the $35 credit. They advised that measures have been taken to ensure this doesn't happen again.

    • +2

Thanks for the efforts. Had similar contact as a result of the reddit thread.

If it's any small consolation for those that got in early-ish and are thinking the $25 promo was lower than the $35 promo - the $25 worth of CRO (~52) I received back in November is worth about $42 now. So the early promo actually works out more.

Still, shame they wouldn't at least give a gesture of good will after all the money they have to throw at advertising. Surely a few OzB members @ $35 each would be a drop in the ocean.

      • +2

Imagine how helpful they are gonna be if there's ever a serious issue. God help us if they ever get hacked 😬

      • +3

For me, it was more of because there was this additional bonus, I signed up. If there wasn’t this bonus, I would have waited until the next round when they would upsize their bonus.

        • +1

Oh completely agree, the only reason I got the missus to go along with it was cause the amount after the bonuses and Spotify rebates it's only about $335 on the line. I'm hoping they pull through for us cause it'll be the nail in the coffin on my crypto ventures when I have to break the news 😂😂 Ah well.

  • +1

For those playing at home, I ended up having support credit me the $35 AUD worth of CRO (I was one of the ones with this customer service and stacking referal debacle).
Came out of the blue with no explanation of why they changed their stance and decided to credit me after all. The rep who contacted me spurring off the Reddit thread dropped back in and said my "request for compensation has been approved"
My guess is their legal team covering their asses
