For those AIA Vitality Members, there is that cashback reward based on your status for travelling with Virgin. I was curious about this.

I called Virgin about this promo. They said that as long as you travel within the dates. It will be added to your account. Hence, this is a great deal for those that have platinum status with AIA Vitality. You will get 50% cashback on your flight and additional FF points and status.

    • that's amazing! Great bonus info!

On the AIA portal the only international destinations I can find are NZ, Fiji, Bali… It appears that the AIA portal only supports routes that Virgin Australia flies on, not partner airlines. I don't think these two promos can be stacked together in that case.

      • I remember AIA offered this will Qantas partner airlines and they lost a lot of money from it.

        • Ah, the good old day where I actually enjoyed AIA discounted international flight with QANTAS. With Virgin, there is barely any flight.

    • The Vitality cashback is for Virgin Australia operated flights. So none of the above will apply, as this promo is only for partner airlines, not Virgin itself.

  • Do these include awards booking?

    • "Points and Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings with our international airline partners"

  • Bummer

  • The Virgin Australia website is only showing about five Asia / Pacific destinations for me, I thought they allowed flights to many more international locations.

When selecting 'use velocity points', other international locations are available to select but there are no flights on any upcoming dates. You might have to book directly with the partner airlines for most international locations.

    • "You will need to book a flight directly with our airline partners via their website to unlock bonus Points and Status Credits."

      • Thanks, my comment was a bit more generic as in I haven't been able to see bookings for many other international countries on the Virgin website.

        • have you tried squinting?

  • happy to see that they kept singapor and etihad as partners. wish I could redeem my future credit for international travel soon.

  • Is it the Virgin points or the airline points? It says to put your Virgin number in when booking, but that'd be in the same spot you'd put your airline club member number wouldn't it?
