24 Can Coke Zero for $9.99 at Bullcreek IGA, WA

431

If going zero is your thing I spotted this deal at my local IGA a couple days ago. More than 10 cartons left when I was there. They have an expiry date in Aug 2012 so there is a decent amount of time left to drink. Not sure how long this special will last?

*edit 23/3/12: went there again today, sign has been removed; deal is over

  • cheap!!
but i live in syd :(

  • as about as popular as pepsi max, or pepsi anything for that matter

  • Oh good a deal 5 minutes from me. Oh no it's coke Max Cough Cough.

  • They're 300mL cans though.
Still cheap cos that makes it 80c/L

    • 330mls

and it'll be $1.23 approx per litre.

  • might drop in. works out to be about $0.41 per can, not too bad.

  • I recently had a can of coke zero that turned out to be a couple of months over the "best by date"
A very perculiar taste indeed, yuko…..
    Returned it for replacement.

its surprising how much better a "fresh" can of coke zero tastes

  • Coke Zero isn't that bad, but you have to force yourself onto it. ie the first 10 cans taste like dunny water, but after those, it goes down easier, now I can't drink regular coke as it's to thick. (If that makes sense)

  • research 'aspartame' and you will no longer want to drink coke zero

    • Research Coke and cleaning, and you will drink water the rest of your life.

      • it cleans the insides. use it as a part of a detox diet :D

    • +1

"Aspartame has been found to be safe for human consumption by more than ninety countries worldwide, with FDA officials describing aspartame as "one of the most thoroughly tested and studied food additives the agency has ever approved" and its safety as "clear cut".The weight of existing scientific evidence indicates that aspartame is safe as a non-nutritive sweetener."

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame_controversy

Admittedly my source is Wikipedia, but it does link to a lot of primary articles that seem to indicate Aspartame is safe for consumption.

    • I remember reading about Aspartame about 15 years ago. I researched the studies, read about some flawed trials, and listened to the belief back then that aspartame would cause an epidemic of brain tumours.

Yet, 15 years later the effects are yet to be seen. Aspartame has been widely consumed for three decades yet there's no evidence beyond anecdotes that it's actually having a measured effect on the population's health (when consumed in reasonable quantities).

It doesn't make Coke Zero (or anything else containing artificial sweeteners) a health drink however. Drinking a bit of juice, water, lots of tea (with no milk) are much better alternatives.

      • regarding Aspartame - please anyone with doubts about this drug, please do fresh research. It was found that the "cancer link" 15 or so years ago was totally not valid.

However, no one is forcing you to drink it, so please return the favour and don't force Pepsi Max or Coke Zero addicts NOT to drink it

      • ——Drinking a bit of juice, water, lots of tea (with no milk) are much better alternatives.——

        +1 for true statement.

  • its a terrible drink

you know its a lost cause when their advertising is trying to convince customers it tastes the same yet it clearly isn't

you can't even mix the crap it messes the taste that much…

  • +6

All this diet crap is poison, have you done your research on Sweetener 950 and 951 as Aspartame? Its been tested on lab rats and they get cancer/tumors, its not worth the risk. Drink water.

    • +3

Or eat fruits. Sweet and full of water content. Not that its a water replacement. Everyone should be drinking water.

    • +4

Yeah, this shit contains known carcinogens, sugar is better but will still give you cancer in high doses. Get some self control and stick to water or at most 100% fruit juice that you water down (30% water minimum). Hell, if you're a fatty and do this you will most likely lose some weight as well as decreasing your risk of cancer by a fucktonne.

      • +2

+1 for the use of fucktonne
Also once you get off the addiction of it, you will wonder why the hell you bought it in the first place

      • +3

lol im not a fatty but thanks for telling me.. on a side note.. I think everyone should watch the movie FOOD MATTERS.

Its a must see.. very informative..

        • Thanks so much for telling about Food Matters, found myself eating raw capsicums and broccoli for the first time ever, before I even finished watching it.

        • No worries ozhunter, now go watch Food Inc

Movies like these have changed my life for the better.. I might be spending more at the shopping center looking at the ingredients but I'm sure in the end I'll feel much better..

  • +1

  • they sell a&w root beer at reject shop…..just sayin

  • +1

dont do it ppl, drink more water!

  • Bugger, cant be bothered takin a drive right now….

  • +1

I absolutely LOVE seeing local WA deals making the front page of OzBargain for a change…. :)

  • +1

I've read all the reports and found one thing to be conclusive.
Don't give it to your pet rat.

  • Water is good, apparently 'water fluoridation' has some negative effects on human being as well.

"Antifluoridationist literature links fluoride exposure to a wide variety of effects, including AIDS, allergy, Alzheimer's, arthritis, cancer, and low IQ, along with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, kidney, pineal gland, and thyroid."

    Research it if you want.

  • plus for the deal, but zero blows!!!

    • +1

No, the Jonah Hill movie I watched last night (The Sitter) blows. Amazing potential, such little care in delivering it.

  • Lol. this is cheaper than tap water these days!!
