Was going to laugh at no joining fees being the special, but $6/week is very reasonable.

I joined them today for exactly that reason, it's a cheap price for what appears to be a fairly decent gym. Other gyms in my area want to charge double to triple that amount per week!

Oh for sure. It’s amazing how much gyms fees can vary. I use to be near a Derrimut fitness down in Vic where I paid $2-300 for the year, but alas I am no longer near there.

    the famous gym meme

    • +3

I didn't know we had them in Australia. I only know the brand existed through "gym fail" meme videos and content of people doing deadlifts and being asked to leave ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This (the 'lunk alarm') ^^ and serving pizza to their members regularly

now my local gym $16.5/w feels like a scam.

Only club in Sydney is at Auburn,

    No thanks.

      In NSW, there's also:

      • Casula
      • Campbelltown (Opening Soon)
      • Gosford
      • Tuggerah
      • 1 in Western Sydney, 2 in South West Sydney and 2 on the Central Coast.

A gym that doesn't allow male bimbos over compensating sounds great.

Nothing sadder then a guy at the gym who thinks they're getting looked at because they think everyone's impressed, when really everyone is just thinking what a (profanity).

Now all we need is a lunk alarm for the same over compensating (profanity) that drive shitty old loud cars/bikes and think everyone is impressed when we're all just rolling our eyes.

Most people that are happy with themselves don't even care, everybody has different goals. Most likely you are just not happy with your self/body/position in life…. It's called projecting insecurities

People who are confident and proud don't need to artificially draw attention to themselves by grunting and carrying on like an animal.

It's the same as in school, where the little shit heads are also the dumbest. They know it's the only way anyones going to notice them.

Let the result of your work get you noticed, not your grunting and Instagram posing.

    • Don't know why this was downvoted ! soooooooooo f'ing true man.

  • protip: anytime fitness do 9.95 a week if you sign up to a gym about to open, after 1 month you can go to any gym
Just tell them the gym is near your work. 7 dollars off for life.

    • The $9.95 isn't universal for all Anytime gym openings. I thought this would be the case for the new one opening up around the corner from me, but their "stage one" pricing was still $12.95 - this is the cheapest it will be for that gym.

If it was $9.95 I definitely would have jumped on it.

      • I seem to get it offered on my fb all the time, not that useful as already a member.
Maybe it's just a SA thing then.

  • I left my local one. They got rid of barbells, squat racks and any form of dead lifts. apparently the squat racks where to popular and people stood around them blocking access to the rest of the gym. Gym now looks fancy with all new treadmills. Sucks for free weights though

Joined plus fitness and have never looked back

      What's the plus fitness rate?

I see 3 different types of fees, joining fee ($100), card fee ($60), admin fee ($50 iirc - like isn't this basically the b/s joining fee??)

      • If you're going to join a gym that charges all those fees, wait until after new year - they often do deals where you can join without the join/card fee.

      • About $15 a week. I signed up with no card or joining fee. Plus no contract lenght.
