Computer Mouse Recommendation - Budget Less than $50

Looking for a dead simple mouse:

Standard 3 buttons
'Claw' grip friendly
Must be durable - no soft touch materials, no holes in the top
No LED's
Wired
Decent sensor
Relatively affordable <$50?

Any ideas?

Logitech anything. For those requirements & budget, probably G203 or G300s if you want to go fancier.

    Razer DeathAdder backup option.

    • I used to have the DeathAdder actually - too large of a mouse.

G203 looks okay but would prefer it without the RGB. Is it possible to permanently turn off the LED's and not have the driver installed? I will be using it across different computers, not all Windows.

      • Any RGB item allows you to switch off the lights. Same applies to G203 via their Logitech G Hub control software.

        Review here: https://www.rtings.com/mouse/reviews/logitech/g203-lightsync

There are more options available if you don't want wired specifically.

        • I saw in the driver it only lets you switch off the logo, does that include the stripe around it? Do the settings stay with the mouse as you unplug and replug?

          • @pollambo: Don't have that mouse to confirm. You'll need to read/watch some reviews.

If you had a larger budget, I would strongly suggest an MX Anywhere instead. It has wired and wireless dongle options as well as bluetooth connection with 3 saved devices with quick button switching. Also perfect for claw grip.

          • @pollambo: I have the G203. The settings are supposed to stay with the mouse but I couldn't figure out how to do it myself!

I ended up ditching it for the Logitech Vertical mouse. Almost 3x your budget, but so much cheaper than visits to a physio.

@huggsymersh: You need to select the 'on board memory(mouse with a chip next to it)' from upper right of the logitech software , then 2 icons (mouse with chip, light globe with chip) will show up at the bottom right of the software, and you can do the on board momory settings.

              • @Richardc: Thanks. I did follow the instructions but it just wouldn't seem to stick for some reason. Anyway, ditched that mouse in favour of the vertical and haven't looked back.

That would be perfect if it came with a better sensor.

  • Bought a new surface ARC mouse for ~$60 I think from market place, been pretty happy with it so dam compact and easy to carry around in bags

Pairs very nicely with surface book 2 too

  • It's not wired, but this is one of the best mice (mouses? meeces?) I've ever used. Dead silent scroll wheel and click buttons, which has been a life/marriage saver since working from home. Our old ones were driving each other crazy!

  • Oh this is easy, Microsoft Intellimouse Pro

If you are "old" it feels exactly like the old Intellimouse but with a fantastic sensor. You can sometimes get them for sub $50, quick google search had them at $55 @ umart .

    Under $50 - logitech M720

  • must be durable? what the heck are you going to do with it?

I've got one of these. Just a light recommendation as I haven't used many other 'gaming mice' options but overall does the job.

  • Logitech G203 and Razer Viper or Viper Mini, all have frequent ozb sales.
    Lights can be turned off.

they are a bit hard to come by nowadays but the G303 is perfect for claw. could get lucky in the second hand market.
