It's coming either this month or next month
I think coles and woolworths have a deal, coles goes first woolworths a week later… ask Aldi

Coles Gift Mastercards
The 10% off Coles Gift Mastercards were on sale at Coles in February, June and October (i.e. every three months). Expect the next 10% off sale around February next year (unless OzBargainers cause so much noise that Coles refuses to run this promotion anymore).
The bonus points offers for Coles Gift Mastercards at Coles tend to happen about once every 6-8 weeks, and they’re usually 1000 or 2000 bonus points per card. However, Coles once ran a 2500 bonus point promotions for $250 Coles Gift Mastercards at NSW stores.
Only1 Visa Prepaid Cards
- I have seen Woolworths and BIG W sell them with bonus points offers every few months (usually 10x points per dollar spent, excluding the gift card purchase fee), but I have not seen them run any discounts on the cards in the last two years.

I remember the last deal at Woolworths (a few months ago) awarded 250 bonus points when you purchased a $50 gift card, which was nowhere near enough to offset the gift card purchase fee. I mean, it also gave you an entry into a competition to win $10,000, but I much prefer guaranteed bonus points rather than an entry into a competition.
- I don’t think Officeworks has ever discounted these gift cards.
The Perfect EFTPOS Gift Cards
- I have seen Woolworths sell them with bonus points offers every few months (usually 10x points per dollar spent, excluding the gift card purchase fee), but I have not seen them run any discounts on the cards in the last two years.

There’s basically no record on OzBargain for these deals at Woolworths, as the Woolworths catalogues would usually only showcase the 500 bonus points for the $50 denomination. Anyone who posted that deal on this site would be negged into oblivion, as the bonus points did not offset the gift card purchase fee, and the catalogue always stated that the bonus points were only applicable for the pictured denomination. However, it was only when I saw this poster in-store that a lot of us realised that the bonus points earn rate for gift cards showcased in the Woolworths catalogue usually scale for the other denominations, regardless of what the catalogue may say.
- I don’t think BIG W, Kmart or Officeworks has ever discounted these gift cards or (where applicable) offered bonus points.
Vanilla Visa Gift Cards
The last time I saw a Vanilla Visa bonus points promotion at Coles was March 2020 (where they offered 2000 bonus points on a $100 gift card). Considering Coles seems to prefer bonus points offers or discounts on the Coles Gift Mastercards, I doubt you’d see any bonus points promotions (or discounts) on this card anytime soon at Coles.
I have not seen BIG W, Target or The Reject Shop run any discounts on these gift cards (or where applicable, offered bonus points) in the last two years.
TCN EFTPOS Gift Cards
I have seen Coles run bonus points promotions every few months, but it was only for the $100 denomination. The 1000 bonus points (combined with the 100 standard points) were not enough to offset the $5.95 gift card purchase fee, so it wouldn’t stand the OzBargain test for a “deal”.
TCN occasionally runs fee-free promotions for these gift cards on their website, but I’m not sure if that meets your criteria of “deals”.
Westfield EFTPOS Gift Cards
I have not seen Coles, Woolworths, BIG W, Australia Post or Westfield themselves run any bonus points offers or discounts on these gift cards in the last two years.
Australia Post accidentally sold these gift cards with zero purchase fee a few months ago on their online store, but this has since been corrected.
WookieMonster thank you!
Coz he ruined it by bragging overly. He has disappeared for 2+ years. Since then, several times revamps happened to narrow down the margin.
Holy smokes!
I wonder if they were fired or had their staff discount revoked for purchasing 115 gift cards during a promotion. I also wonder whether they were the straw that broke the camel’s back and caused Woolworths to finally block the purchase of gift cards using Woolworths Group gift cards at Woolworths Group businesses.
Gosh, that Only1 Visa sale was a long time ago!

During 2021 Easter, Big W ran the promotion on The perfect eftpos gift card. You earned 2000 points which could cover the purchase fee $6.95! Big W had no limit. I used eftpos cards to buy eftpos cards until each big W out of stock. It’s handy to know that you can use EFTPOS gift cards to pay for EFTPOS gift cards at BIG W, because you cannot do that at Woolworths. I’ve updated the FAQ page with your intel. (Thanks!)
I don’t know how I forgot about that promotion from BIG W… I thought the promotion limited you to bonus points on ten gift cards per member, so I’m surprised to hear that BIG W had no limit.
It was in Easter 2021. Not sure now(Nov, 2021) if you can still pay with eftpos gift card. I got several everyday rewards cards. I was in Hobart during that promotion period. Besides, It had only 4 big W stores in total. Hahaha

The restriction at Woolworths has been in place for years, but that’s only because Woolworths is stopping team members from abusing their 5% team member discount on (nearly all) gift cards at Woolworths and buying a $500 EFTPOS gift card for $482.55, then using $482.55 on that EFTPOS gift card to purchase another $500 EFTPOS gift card, etc. There are no team member discounts on gift cards at BIG W, so there is no need to implement that restriction at BIG W.
You’re lucky you were there in Hobart when you could earn Everyday Rewards points at BIG W, because you couldn’t do that for the first 17 years BIG W operated in Tasmania… Also, I’m fairly sure Hobart only has three BIG W stores (Rosny Park / Eastlands, Glenorchy, Kingston).
Fun fact, I visited BIG W Rosny Park on its grand opening night in 2003; it was the first BIG W to be opened in Tasmania!
@WookieMonster: The correct figure is $482.95, no discount applied to $7.95 card cost. No bonus point is credited for $7.95 when there is 10x pts promo, either. But discount is applied to $5.95 or $6.95 for value set card (this info correct as one year ago).
