Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar $1149 Delivered @ H&S Jewellers

34

Just picked up one of these from JB Hifi by price matching. Recently as low as $1200 on Amazon (has apparently been as low as late $900’s) and suspect might be lower with BFCM coming up, but a great deal for someone who needs it now.

Damn I thought Apple Watch was expensive.

FWIW, I own a Garmin 6X Sapphire which can be had regularly for under $700.

Comparing the 6X Sapphire vs 6X Solar

    Battery (GPS and Music)
6X Sapphire: Up to 15 hours
6X Solar: Up to 15 hours / 16 hours with solar
    =7% improvement

    Battery (Smartwatch Mode)
6X Sapphire: Up to 21 days
6X Solar: Up to 21 days indoors / 24 days with solar
    =14% improvement

So at best, you are paying $450 more for somewhere between 7-14% (aka sweet FA) more battery, and you lose the durability of sapphire glass for a watch with identical software features. Absolutely not worth it IMO.

    • 100% agreed. Same reasoning why I purchased the Sapphire. The sapphire glass is incredibly tough, mine gets absolutely punished and still looks brand new with no scratches.

$450 saving, great battery life and a seemingly indestructible screen is definitely the way to go!

    • Been looking around for the 6X Sapphire for a while, any good deals at the moment or best to wait for a black Friday sale?

      • Not at the moment, will have to see what Black Friday brings. They were $799 at JB and $699 at Amazon on Black Friday last year.

        • I'll definitely keep an eye on it in the future. Really wanted to upgrade from my Forerunner 245 haha

    • Agree! I bought mine as part of the Garmin 50% off site wide stuff up and chose the 6x sapphire still, price difference then was only like $100 and most real life battery difference is prob actually like 1 to 5%

    • Yup go the fenix 6X Sapphire for the glass, and typical jb-hifi 699 sale price. Only sucks the battery if you're running an intensive gps tracking app, otherwise charge it every few weeks.

  • I wouldn’t buy this actually Black Friday and Cyber Monday are not far away… better wait before you regret spending way too much!

  • this is far from being a deal.

  • Why would anyone pay this much for a smartwatch? No deal

To each their own mate, this is very useful for some people

  • Are these only good for runners or are they reasonable at tracking swimming metrics and other workouts?

    • Mine tracks mountain biking and snowboarding pretty well. Never used it for swimming though.
