2kg of Bay Beans Mocha Prince coffee beans, including Free Delivery anywhere in Australia.

Pay $49.00 (Free Delivery)

You would reasonably expect to pay at least $10 for courier delivery on a order like this from any merchant, so the coffee is costing you less than $20 per KG. As with all my coffee, its roasted fresh on demand.

    fast delivery and good coffee

    • Thanks!

2kg of coffee is a LOT for an average home consumer to get through fast enough for the coffee to still retain that key benefit of being 'freshly' roasted - as opposed to months & months ago with supermarket buys.

Don't get me wrong will still be fine to drink after a month but it'll slide back so you lose that real point of difference. I'd find a friend and split with them unless you're a heavy user. :-)

    • You're right, though lots of buyers like this qty too. What's an ideal offer qty for you? I will put something together for next time. .

It's worthwhile freezing an unopened bag for later use. Don't refreeze it after opening though. More details on the FAQ of my website.

      • my local coffee roaster says to store the bag in the freezer at all times to maintain freshness. I always thought you are not meant to do that, but I have been doing it and does not seem to affect the flavour.

        • I dont think its a big problem either way, just different beliefs. The thinking is that once you open the bag, you release the fresh roasted gasses, and its replaced with oxygen from the air. then you close the bag, with oxygen inside the bag, it gets cold, condensates on the beans. then you take it out of the freezer, and the condensation forms on the beans again, making them slightly wet. Theres also a camp that pours right from te frozen bag into the hopper and others that beleive you should let them come to room temp first. but I think its a small issue in the scheme of things, or compared with other options. Its all upto personal preference.

        • Harris coffee says NOT to store coffee in the fridge or freezer though - we can't win.

      • Yes I think you are right, all personal preference. The bags from my coffee roaster have a valve to squeeze all the air out and then fold it down. That might help a bit as well. Surely keeping in fridge/freezer is better than out in the open anyway.

        • Your on a winner by squeezing out as much air as you can. The ultimate is a vacuum container in the pantry for beans you are using.

        • Vacu-Vin container for open-bag bean storage FTW! :-)

      • Hi Baybeans,

Just wanted to comment that I would buy 1kg, but 2kg is just too much for us.

Look forward to trying your beans some time.

        • noted. next offer I aim to make it a smaller quantity.

  • thats heaps it takes me about 2 weeks to get throught a 250g bag.

    • +1

Yes, I roast my own on a 'coretto' and a 600g roast will do my wife and I for around 3 weeks. Its just worth considering that by the time you consume such an amount of coffee the latter portion of it will be well past its best (generally 7-28 days is prime drinking period but varies).

      • +1

I think I may start roasting my own coffee, turns out much cheaper. I pay about $14 for a 250g bag at my local coffee roaster. They would be making a fortune.

  • Opp, if I purchased two bags for $19.50 each and paid $10 postage making the total $49 I would work it out at $24.50 a bag not around the other way as you have described.

    • yes, your right, you would be paying 24.50 per kilo including the delivery cost. I was making the point that its reasonable to expect to pay $10 for delivery, which I dont charge for, so in comparison, if you first removed what you would normally expect to pay for delivery ($10), your left with coffee that is costing you $39, which is less than $20 per kilo.

To clarify, yes, the transaction cost for each kilo of coffee is $24.50, with the coffee component value being $19.50 per kilo purchased through this deal if you allow $10 for a delivery.

    Great coffee!

    I've done 1 kg in 2 months!

Would be temped to try a different blend, but I still have a 1 kg bag from last special!

    Cheers,

    • The mocha is a great coffee. especially if your preparing your coffee in a plunger, pour over or french press. Its a nice sweet coffee for flat white and cappuccino too, with a bit of chocolate hints. I am considering doing a smaller order size offer for some of the ozb members that need less coffee.

these are nice beans. when does this deal expire?

    • Expires march 31st.
Updated the description to include the expiry date now.
      Thanks.

      • Hi,

I don't have coffee maker machine or plunger or anything ( use the grounded coffee ). Can i use a blender to blend coffee beans then take it out and put in the coffee plunger ?

        • +1

Hi Frewer. the best option in your case is to purchase a stovetop espresso maker (i have them in the store for about $30), or a plunger from Woolworths (they are only around $9-$12), then purchase some preground coffee and your away. Add a couple of spoonfuls of Preground coffee to the plunger, let it brew like tea, then enjoy. If you want to grind your coffee in your blender, you can do it like that, but be aware, the woman of the house will scream at you, and consider if the pain is worth it. A inexpensive grinder can be bought for around $20 from somewhere like Aldi, or if you get some extra cash, look for a bur grinder, which sell from $50 upwards to hundreds of dollars. There are some good grinders now for around $100-$200.

this offer of 2kg is going to be too much for you though, so hang out if you can for when I make an offer for a smaller quantity in the future.

        • Thank you for your time, i did see a stovetop espresso maker in BigW

LOL i show the wife you comment and we have a good laugh. So how does the stovetop espresso maker works? I might just get one of those from BigW. Yeah 2kg is too much for me atm. Thank for your help again.

        • Hi Frewer. A stove top is fairly simple to use, its kind of like boiling a kettle on the stove, but under pressure. You will get basic instructions on the box, but essentially, you put water in the bottom part, coffee in the middle, bring it to heat (its a pressure vessle) and then your coffee extraction results at the top chamber. Then just pour it into your cup and ad milk if you like.

        • |you put water in the bottom part, coffee in the middle, bring it to heat|

Do you mean coffee beans ? or grounded beans ?

        • ground coffee.

Coffee Beans need to be ground before they can be used for a coffee drink. You can purchase your coffee as whole beans, for grinding by you at home, or preground and ready to use.

  • great deal - love it thanks

Lovin' the last deal of Fair Play beans, shared the deal with a mate ;)
    YUUUUMMMMO !

Hopefully you'll continue with theses deals???
If you do, is there a chance of 3 bags for $75 ?
(really need 3 instead of 2, we take a bag each and share one at work)

Also, do you happen to have resealable bags?
That would male life a little easier, if not, no biggi.

    Cheers James :D

    • sharing your loot with a mate, great idea.

There has been a few requests for a smaller deal size, so I might do that next time round with the last two offers both being 2kg. if you like, contact me through
      http://www.baybeans.com.au/contact.html
and I will prepare a 3kg offering just for you.

      • 3kg lol he better have it 5 times a day.

    Anyway to get a sample?

I'd hate to buy 2kg upfront without having tasted the coffee…

    • Sure you can, I have a variety pack which has Espresso, Mocha, Fair Trade and Forte;
      http://www.baybeans.com.au/variety-pack-coffee-beans.html

but I suspect you were looking for a free sample ;-)

Sorry, cant do a free sample for you. These ozbargain listings are my answer to samples. I dont make anything out of them, but they don't cost me anything other than time and effort, and people get to try Bay Beans coffee first hand.

I will put together a smaller bag size for next deal, which will be at a lower price point too - that could be your answer to a sample.

  • Hey James, I called you yesterday. Thanks for arranging the deal as promised. I ordered around 7 am this morning. Any chance you can post them today? I might get them tomorrow. Running really low for the weekend.

Also, next time, could you please have the full strength deal? albeit a bit more.

I am sure, many would be after full strength coffee…

    thanks

    ilsan

  • No No, same Qty is fine… Any chance you can send me one of those instead? 2kg of chocolate coffee might be overkill..

    I am happy with either…

    • Let me grab your order - can you text or email me your name?

    Awesome service James!!!

    • Agreed, seems like a great company.

    • Agreed, seems like a great company.

    • thanks!

  • I think a 1kg offering would go down well!

I'm keen to try the brand but don't have a need for several months worth!

    • cool.

  • …..and the next deal is ???? ;)

    • What kind of deal would you like to see?

      • Your last 2 deals of $49 was just lovely thanks :)
After another but need the espresso beans…..and if you do go through with another, i'll be after 3 bags for $75 if that's ok.. Something to wash down the excess of easter eggs :p

      • Any deal with caffein in it will do me thanks.
