How to connect Xiaomi Smart Plug zncz07cm ?

Hey guys,

Looking for some help with connecting Xiaomi Smart Plug model zncz07cm. Can't really find much reference over the internet, and most youtube doesn't really show how to troubleshoot.

I have:
- Xiaomi app (ver. 6.12.706) with
— Roborock S5 registered
— Xiaomi gateway registered

Smart Plug
- Model zncz07cm
- Mijia Smart Socket 2 Bluetooth (Gateway version)

I'm hoping ozbargainers can give me some pointers, I tried the following
- Press and hold 5 sec then blinks orange
— Xiaomi app unable to detect or scan
— Xiaomi gateway unable to detect either under Zigbee child devices or Bluetooth child devices
- Connect Xiaomi app directly to smart plug SSID successfully, still unable to connect/register

Without proper manual, I can't go any further, most video instruction I saw there was almost no troubleshooting, device connects pretty much straight away or by resetting (press and hold for 5 sec) the device a couple of times. One thing I realised was this plug will only work with 2.4Ghz Wifi, but even then I'm not even sure how it would matter if it connects either via bluetooth or directly to the mobile app.

Hope someone can give me some instruction on how to troubleshoot or if this model isn't compatible with the current Xiaomi app.

    Does your wifi name contain special characters?
    Have you tried it on china server?

      China server?!? not sure which is this.

      It seems to be either issue with the app or the device itself, it could also be an outdated product that the app new version doesn't list.

          Thanks that actually works!!

          I also found another called vev's app. It's basically an MiHome apk that unlocks the region, but you will need to download and install the plugin (for devices) manually, and it doesn't need to root

            @msugi: some of the devices will only work in mainland China server .I have 83 different devices on China server .
            My roborock S5 vacuum not work on China server . it will be good to have everything in one server for automation .
