Supercheap Auto 2x18v Lawnmower with 2x2ah Batteries $179 (Was $199) ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ Supercheap Auto

170

Picked one up yesterday and still a bit of stock around Victoria.

Comes with two 2ah batteries and a dual charger which is compatible with Worx and Toolpro so pretty good for the battery compatibility.

Haven't used yet so no idea on quality but for $169 after using my store credit it seems ok. Couldn't get the Ozito from Bunnings as no stock near me but this is cheaper anyway.

2 2ah batteries could not possibly be enough to mow much lawn.

That property looks to big for this mower +batteries.

If you have a quite small yard then this is probably good value but only 2Ah battery and 34cm cutting width means it would be annoying for anything medium sized.

  • How long do the batteries take to recharge?

hanging for bunnings to beat this deal :)

  • electric mowers burn through batteries so, unless you have a tiny lawn, 2x2ah batteries are going to be woefully inadequate

  • I agree with the above, those batteries would be flat out mowing the grass shown with the person in the photo, let alone the huge yard exposed in the video.

The lady didn't mow her lawn with this mower. She mowed with a stronger mower and this photo depicts her wheeling the SCA mower to the kerb for hard-rubbish collection day.

pretty sure she started when she was 20 and legend has it she's still mowing that lawn to this day.

You might get through a single frontage nature strip with those batteries.

  • I have a tiny backyard and nature strip - should I go with this deal (36V and two 2AH batteries) or the bunnings ozito 18V, single 4ah battery? Have some buffalo turf so I figure the extra grunt of 36V might be better

Get an Ozito for longevity and ability to buy batteries. What batteries are compatible with sca 18v devices?
The sca 18v branded tools are on clearance. Once your battery dies can you buy another battery to keep the tool going?

If you don't already have a tool ecosystem to match and don't need expensive tools, then Ozito PXC all the way. You won't use the SCA batteries for anything else probably.

That said I do think the extra grunt of 36v is probably worth it. If you can hang out for an Ozito 36v thing to go on sale like this that would be most ideal.

  • Both mowers give a total power output of 72 watts, so power is similar…

I have a 36v Bosch mower and it does a good job but if the grass is even slightly moist like after a foggy morning, it struggles…

For a tiny lawn the key to a good job is to trim it frequently (once every 1 to 2 weeks) and either will do the trick.

  • Can I use this to cut my neighbour's grass?

If its from Super Cheap it will be junk that breaks soon after the warranty is up and there will be no replacement parts.
