Same they're half price here. Will be picking up some tubs of the new flavour.
Pana Organic 475ml Tubs
Of what?
Organic air
These are actually quite tasty but damn you gotta be making bank to justify full price on these tubs. I usually buy a couple when they are on sale.
still cheaper than ben and jerrys :O
Imported ingredients must be dirt cheap
Made in xxx, repackaged in NZ.. world of getting around tarrifs and trade agreements.
Welcome to the 5% that's not made in Australia
Really like the double choc, which isn't available at Coles…
Has anyone tried the hazelnut chocolate ripple or salted chocolate & caramel?
Hazelnut chocolate ripple is sooo good! Tastes like a frozen spoonful of Nutella. Definitely my favourite at the moment.
Salted caramel and chocolate is good too. More on the chocolate side than salted caramel, but really good :)
Agree on salted caramel. Yum.
LOL "ice cream"
Likely the ingredients are from China if it is packaged in NZ…
Yuck. I like to avoid consuming anything made in china.
How can we have more people like you? Asian restaurants bubble teas fried chicken buns are taking over streets

Doesn't mean the ingredients are from China.
@jv: Same thing
It isn't packaged in NZ? It's made in Melbourne
From their site (although this is regarding chocolate i believe )
We only source the highest quality raw organic materials straight from their countries of origin, supporting ethical and sustainable sources of income for local workers. The core ingredients which create the unique Pana Organic taste and texture are certified organic, and where that’s not possible, are still produced under fair conditions from small plantation growers. We work hard to ensure that everyone involved in production and supply is receiving higher than market price for their goods and services. Only the finest ingredients from around the world:
Cacao powder from Bolivia and the Dominican Republic
Cacao butter from Peru
Coconut oil from the Philippines
Coconut nectar from Indonesia
Dark agave nectar from Mexico
Carob from Spain
Cinnamon from Sri Lanka
Sea salt from Iceland
Finest ingredients or cheapest?

OK, I was going by an earlier comment.
There you go then, it's perfectly fine. If they added some Tasmanian organic dairy I'd be all over this.
I think things are improving standards wise but there's still a long way to go before you'd be confident buying Chinese made food stuff. Even the Chinese people agree, look at the huge premium they are willing to pay for Australian/New Zealand produced food.
Nothing against China per se it's just the face they've had so many scandals with ingredients substitution &/or certification agencies being found to take bribes ECT.
Risk v Reward just isn't worth it when it comes to food.
How does this compare to Häagen-Dazs?
This one is easier to pronounce…
pah·nah?
Probably the only vegan Ice cream which tastes nice.
the plant based halo top is nice. the normal halo top has a texture of frozen powder though. probably one of the only times the vegan option is nicer than the dairy
In fact I was reminded that we tried this a while back and it tasted "weird". And not good weird.
I refuse to eat anything vegan these days
You stopped eating fruit and veg?
I sprinkle bacon bits on my fruit and veg. Are you telling me you don't?
& to clarify if it wasn't obv I meant anything that's actively promoted as being vegan, I don't only breathe in air that's been farted out of an animal either lol
Haha and thanks guys for proving my point let's get those negs up to 100+ to show me vegans have a sense of humour ;p
I sprinkle bacon bits on my fruit and veg. Are you telling me you don't?
I don't want to offend cultures who don't eat pork.
@jv: Haha! Well I'm giving you a thumbs up for not wanting to offend anyone ;D
Lol so you don't eat bread, rice, pasta, beans, nuts, fruit or vegetables?
Oh it's vegan ice-cream. They could have made it more obvious.
Agree…
I accidentally bought Vegan sausages from the meat section at Coles a while back.
They need to make the packaging clearer….
what, the giant sign that says PLANT BASED MEATS with the leaf isn't obvious enough? 😂 boi you need to hold your head up while you're shopping or something. the only way you're missing these signs is if you're looking at your feet as you mope around your local coles.
what, the giant sign that says PLANT BASED MEATS with the leaf isn't obvious enough?
Nope, it was in the meat section with all the other sausages.
Only small print on it that it was plant based and didn't realise it until I was about to cook them.
They were 'edible', but nothing like a real beef sausage.
@jv: i've never seen them outside of the plant based section in the meat isle (which i think should just be with all the other stuff like tofu etc facing the fresh veggies). sounds like you got super unlucky there (or maybe lucky from a health perspective? haha).
@lulzenberg: They have a separate section now, but initially they had them with the meat.
A lot of people probably got 'tricked' into buying them. Maybe they were worried about a class action.
@jv: i think the only people that worried about it are the meat and dairy industry :P
All sausage packets are clear so you can see what's inside.
They looked like meat sausages.
@jv: Or do meat sausages look like plant based sausages?
I found the link to the product
https://shop.coles.com.au/a/kew/product/herb-sons-beef-free-…
@jv: how rich are you that you walk down the snags section and go for the pack thats $8.50 for 6! hah :P
@lulzenberg: It was on clearance…
@jv: yeah yeah sure sure :P - did you at least post it on ozb?
@lulzenberg: There was only one left, and the clearance sticker covered the word 'free'….
@jv: i feel like there's some kind of irony there but i can't put my finger on it.
@lulzenberg: I heard JV is a racist (that's the rumour) apparently he has a bias against vegans.
Let's start a movement to get him cancelled ;P
Sometimes I swear you find some epic pearls of hilarity in most unusual places lol
a racist (that's the rumour) apparently he has a bias against vegans.
Some news for you, vegans aren't a race, so it's OK to discriminate against them…
@jv: damn you and your facts.
Surely it makes you a sexist at least? How dare you put facts ahead of my moral crusade ;p
Still one of the best ice-creams I've had.
It's not an ice-cream though. It's a non-dairy dessert.
Now that's a fact you can check.
buddy what are your thoughts on coconut cream and hand cream
@jv: So a frozen food containing cream&milk of coconut but no milk counts by this definition?
Well it tastes like ice-cream, and better than most.
Pana is awesome. Owner is often behind the counter in Richmond.
Owner is often behind the counter
Shouldn't be drinking on the job… OH&S issues…
Here is a very cool song called Pana to listen to while eating your ice cream.
Lots of really really healthy sugar in it.
Go for it.
"But… but…. it's VEGAN! So it must be good for you."
I don't think anyone is trying to argue that it is healthy. Rather probably still better than the dairy alternatives.
Well it's not halo if your arguing calories.
Weird.. these are 5.50 save 5.50 at my local coles.. i always though the prices were the same at all stores but have recently seen a few things like this, they have all been with vegan products too 🤔
even clicking this shows me 5.50 hmm.
