This one was released a few months ago but hasn’t really found it’s way to the Australian market. It’s a clone of the much pricier Belkin deal posted today:

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/660235

Works great - I’ve been using it for the past month with my 13 Pro Max. It has a heavy base and the head pivots. Delivered in around a week, but YMMV.

It comes with a USB-C cable but no charger. To be honest most chargers that come with accessories are junk, and they’d need to up the price a bit if they were to include one of their 20w adaptors (they probably don’t want to cannibalise their charger business anyway :).

Note that USB-C cable may need to be flipped with some chargers or you get a flashing light… I’ve seen this in other products too.

It’s currently $51.02AUD delivered, but it will drop to $41.98AUD on 11 November. To be honest, it’s great value already.

The Belkin one charges MagSafe devices at 15W. This Anker one claims to charge at 7.5W. That’s a big reason not to buy this one.

If you have this at your desk all day, like I do, it’s not really a problem. For me, the practicality of the stand offsets the benefits of rapid charging.

Plus, it’s one third or half the price (depending on whether the Belkin is on sale), which is why many people are on this site to begin with…

To add to that, you will need a USB-C wall charger of 18W or higher for this stand, so add another $20 on top.

That being said though, its still a fair bit cheaper and Anker is a good and reputable brand. So if you don't mind the 7.5W compared to 15W MagSafe certified Belkin alternative, then this looks like a good product.

  • How's the grip on the magnets? work with the apple cases/wallet?

    • Holds my 13 Pro Max really well, but I don’t use a case. My other half has a 12 with a cheapo (non-MagSafe) case, and it holds okay, but not as firmly.

Is the grip important on a w…. Anker product?

  • I need something like that for the car. All MagSafe charges I tried to date don’t hold firmly enough

    • You using a MagSafe case? Which mounts have you tried? I'm looking for one myself.
