Magic Bullet Blender

Would love to buy one of those magic bullet blender systems
Like this http://amzn.to/GzDQdJ

Lots for sale over the net inc Amazon under $50 odd but none that deliver to Aust
Local sales are all $100+ rip-off even ebay
Anybody know of a local reasonable seller?
Doesn't have to be this exact brand - just a decent machine with cups that go in the dishwasher
Cheers

  • Have a look at Cuisinart CPB-300A Compact Portable Blending/Chopping System
    http://www.cuisinart.com.au/product/compact-portable-blendin…
Much better looking & seems well made vs the magic bullet.

    • Thanks will definitely keep that one as a back up option
Similar system of excellent quality but looking at around $140 for that
If I can find a Magic Bullet for half that I would rather go that way
Really appreciate your advice though - Cheers

  • That link to Amazon posts to Aus, comes to $72 posted

    • Yeah but how would I purchase?
Amazon won't ship to Aust so I would need to do the whole forwarding agent mularkey and no warranty etc
That's why I am looking for a local retailer at a fair price

  • Are you sure that this is 240/220 volt? Generally cheaper electrical items from US are 110V only, and especially cheaper motor driven ones.

  • I have a copy one that has never been used.

Probably just as well, as there was a recall on many of them. I suspect all of the cheapy ones were made in the same place, so if yours is not on the list it's only because it hasn't come to their attention yet.

      • Actually its not really a recall on the whole product, if its from Homeart. (My guess is that the Kmart and Woolworths could be fixed but Kmart and Woolies internal support systems arent set up for replacement parts)

        Says

Consumers should cease using the Rocket Blender immediately and return the blending blades to any Homeart store for a replacement set of blades.

So they are still usable if you get the replacement blades and its a homeart product

        • It was recalled from other stores other than just homeart from ozpete. Kmart was amongst them, as per the second link above. I subscribe to their notifications, and around the time there were about 4 separate recall notices for different stores. This was to do with the gasket inside disintegrating and getting into the food.

          What are the hazards?
Gasket may be damaged during use and become mixed with food, posing an ingestion and/or choking hazard.
          What are the defects?
In some circumstances the gasket (rubber seal) may become caught in the blender blades during use.

  • Just got the Homeart catalogue and on the front page they are advertising a "new and improved" MIGHTY PLUS Rocket Blender package for $29.99. http://www.homeart.com.au/catalogue.html

    • Thanks for that - will check it out

      • I purchased the homeart one on the weekend
A bit rough round the edges and cheaper but working for now
        Thanks for the tip
