    only if your desktop have type C dp alt, most of the desktop mobo have not got this.

      Thanks mate. Do you have one you would recommend for a desktop? I just need more usb ports lol. I do have type C but I don't think for dp.

        First, you need to confirm the type c port of your laptop support data transfer or not, if it does, I would recommend below one for you, it is with 3 USB ports. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08GRY57TV

        But please note if the type c port of your laptop doesn't support DP alt mode, the HDMI port of the above product wouldn't work.

  no 4k60hz and cost $60+ really isn't much of a deal, the ONLY use case is if someone want triple monitor on Windows laptop. if one need 4k60hz this would be a better deal with almost same output(1 less VGA, 1 more audio) and cheaper.
