I am trying to understand why would anyone choose anything other than Auspost for package sending when every courier quote I have gotten is at least 30% more expensive.
I get that some offer extra service like same day delivery but others are basically the same.
Anyone have an idea where how I can ship within NSW for less than $9?
When it comes to couriers, you have the classic choice architecture of:
A. Low cost
B. High reliability
C. Fast delivery
Now, CHOOSE TWO.
Spolier: Unfortunately, companies like CouriersPlease and Fastway/Aramex may only be able to give you 1/3 - and it isn't high reliability or fast delivery.

For next suburb drop, it is cheaper than AusPost, same day faster than AusPost.
If I got an UberConnect now it would be job done within the hour.

Plenty of couriers cheaper than Auspost.
The quality of couriers is highly dependant on your area and your residential type (gated apartments, townhouses, houses etc).

How big is the item, how far does it have to go, and how quickly does it need to be there? Those 3 questions would have a big impact on the price.
Do you have an account with them? Do you send 100s or 1000s of parcels a week? If not, that is why they are more costly.
