2018 Santoro Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Red Wine Case of 6 Bottles down to $39.

You may be luck and find it available for Click & Collect at some stores but in most part delivery is required. Standard delivery appears to be $9.90, may be more for some locations.

Product details

From a renowned Italian winery.
Complex aromas and flavours.
Perfect for pizza and pasta.
Region: Abruzzo, Italy.
Colour: Deep ruby red with violet reflections.
Nose: Intense, with notes of plum and cherry, spicy, with rosemary and vanilla scents.
Palate: A full bodied wine, soft and balanced, easy to drink.
Oak: Nil.
Food Match: Savoury first courses, red meat and game, mature cheese.
Drink Until: 2025.

The countryside around San Marzano, in the North of Salento, close to the Ionian arc. At almost 100m above sea level, with high average temperature and little rainfall during the year. The soils are mainly composed of clay and characterized by a good presence of limestone, a reddishbrown colour and a very low depth. We are in the heart of the so-called terra rossa (red soil) land.
Thermo-controlled maceration for about 10 days, alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts.

Scores 3.8/5 on vivino which suggests a very good wine for the price.

  A quick google shows a few places sell this for $8-10/bottle (48-60 for 6), so it's still a good deal but the RRP is fake.

        I also can't find it anywhere else in Australia. One that comes up for first choice for me in google is a totally different wine (Dorio
        Montepulciano ).

  Have had previous vintages of this. Used to get it for $30 a half dozen at Cellarmasters sales. Surprisingly good for the money!

  When a google search puts the ozbargain thread high amongst the limited listings I worry.

  Past experience tells me to be concerned when it is virtually unkown save for Dan Murphy.

  I appreciate what sneindorf says but I remain wary.

    I ended up ordering two boxes, based on the local and overseas reviews I could find. I figure at this price you cannot do too much wrong.

    I took the gamble (after I couldn't find too much info) on this recent deal. Ordered one box, sampled it the minute it arrived and ordered two more boxes straight away.
