Some things are just easier to use with batteries. Can't imagine it would use much power.
To be fair, the battery in my (Kmart) one has died twice and both times I’ve been too lazy to go out and buy them straight away or to stock a few. Rechargeable does have an appeal to me.
You mean you are on Ozbargain and don't have a ready supply of Eneloops? OMG.
Lol. I have a selection. But, alas, the scale I have takes 2032 button batteries I think.
@tomsco: So many button batteries? Mine only uses 1

Coles $10 kitchen scale plus clearance ladda AAA batteries gets the job done for me.
I have this scale, or another rebranded version, and it’s a wonky scale. Many times when I place a bowl, and press reset to 0, it doesn’t go negative and remains on 0 when I lift up the bowl. Sometimes it works, and it goes into negative as it should, and many times it doesn’t.
It’s not stainless steel, but stainless steel look.
Sounds like a quality product. LOL
I pretty much have this same scale. No issues with it working. The main problem however is the LCD display is only viewable at directly perpendicular, so when you chuck a plate or bowl that partially covers it, it's hard to read the screen.
Would buy a different brand if i could choose again.
