NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Amazon will sell $10 gift cards to its site for half the price on Tuesday, through its daily deals site AmazonLocal.
It's a bid to boost customer interest in the nine-month-old AmazonLocal service, which is one of several deal sites that sprang up after Groupon's (GRPN) success.

How can people in Australia benefit from this? Advice?
They are Gift Cards. Can be used in there Amazon.com store, Postage is offered internationally. There is always deals posted from Amazon.
Bought the Livingsocial offer and used it with no problems. Shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I just tried to visit amazonlocal, and you have to select a US city before even viewing the site. I know someone in Atlanta, Georgia. So I used that, then logged in with my (Australian address) username & password. It let me subscribe to the AmazonLocal daily deal email… But will they honor the gift card, seeing I'm in Australia - who knows. I guess I'll have to decide if it's worth risking losing $10 to gain $5.
Offer seems to be live now. But in the T&Cs - "Purchase of GCs on AmazonLocal is valid for US-based customers only". Not sure if this has stopped any Aussies from taking up the deal though.
Is this available to Australia?
