If you were in the beta or one of the beta weekends like me, you might want to wait to see if they send you a 7-day trial instead — which gives you more game time, and can be activated anytime in the next 2 weeks (rather than being limited to just this weekend). Or if you're super cheap, you could even create another account to take advantage of both this weekend pass and the 7-day trial. ;)

This is the text of the email I just received this morning:

Subject: Try The Old Republic free for 7 days

Join us for a 7-day free* trial

You have been a dedicated member of the Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ community and we appreciate your interest in our game. As a thank you for being a dedicated fan, we would like to invite you to participate in a 7-day free Trial. This is one Star Wars™: game you don't want to miss; MSNBC named it "…Game of the Year." See for yourself, you're only a few steps away. Create an account, download the game, click "Start Trial Now" and play for seven full days. No credit card required and no commitment. It's that easy.

Don't delay, this invite expires in 14 days so login your Star Wars: The Old Republic account now.

Thanks again for your support and we look forward to seeing you in The Old Republic™!

Are they at the point of attempting desperate free offers to get people in already?

  • I have a SWTOR subscription, and play irregularly.
The first 20 lvls are by FAR the BEST in the game!!!
More fun with +3 friends :)

shit, i need 3 more then sadface

  • I've just registered for my wife and myself. Should be a fun few hours. SWKOTOR was a great single player RPG so I'll see how SWTOR compares.

  • How many GB's is the download?

    • Interested to know that too!

Still downloading :( hurry up or the free weekend will be over!

    • Seriously this is true. It's 25GB and downloads at 320KB/s, so it would take around 22 hours to download it, assuming nothing goes wrong with your Internet in the meantime.

      • I downloaded the client yesterday afternoon at 13.5MB/s with Telstra cable. :)
