TPG Reverting to 100/20 Instead of 100/40 after 6 Month Speed Boost

Earlier this year, I was on the TPG 100/40 plan, but noticed that I'm only achieving upload speeds of about 20 after the 6 month TPG speed boost reverted recently.

Has TPG sneakily moved everyone who was on 100/40 back to 100/20 after the temporary speed boost or is my speed test just not accurate?

  • Nope - Mines 100/40 still but never hit 40 in speedtests… Around 30Mbps

  • Mine is 100/40 again

  • Thanks - I remember getting speeds in the 30's as well, but now I'm only hitting low 20's.

  • Have you given the router a good reboot since the revert?

  • Now it's official. They're moving 100/40 plans to 100/20 unless you pay an extra $10 a month.

Due to the current NBN wholesale cost model, the cost to supply NBN services has unfortunately increased across the industry.

At TPG, we’re committed to making sure you always get great value. To avoid raising our pricing as a result of these increased costs, we are writing to you to let you know that we are making some changes to your NBN plan in 30 days’ time.

On or after 12/12/2021, the maximum upload speeds on your NBN100 plan will change in line with the table below.
You should not experience any changes to most everyday internet usage like streaming or browsing as there will be no changes to your download speeds.
This change will only impact the maximum upload speed of your NBN service. Uploads involve sending data from your device to the internet – such as file transfers. For example, uploading a 10MB image to social media with a 20Mbps upload speed could in theory take around 5 seconds compared to around 2.5 seconds with a 40Mbps upload speed.
All other aspects of your NBN plan (e.g. monthly price and included features) will also stay the same.

  • I got the same email today.

  • Yep I just got that one today…
    Are you guys changing ISPs?
    100/20 sucks!
