Land/Building Contract Conveyancer

Hi all,
I spoke to conveyancer and solicitor to act on my behalf for land and building contract( 2 separate contracts off the plan) Both told they can do this for land not for building.
reasons…

Conveyancer…. Not authorised

Solicitors… Too much hassle for little, if any problem comes and case go to court. For extra fees he can go through building contract and advice but not legally act on behalf.

What people do in this situation?
Thanks

The advice you are getting is correct - they are totally different specialties. Asking a conveyancer to review a building contract is like asking a plumber to be a sparkie.. it's not just that it's illegal, it is also very much in your own interest to ensure you are getting the right advice.

Having said that you might not necessarily need to have a building contract reviewed . Personally I'm not getting my building contract reviewed for the reason being that I already know there's a million things in there that are unfavourable to me, i don't need a professional to tell me about a million and one things … rather I have a list going of the things I want to negotiate on with the builder as I know I'll be lucky to get them to move at all for the bulk of it
