$49 for 100g [+ $12.50 delivery], and that's "on special" tooIs there a reason this product demands such a high premium? Because it looks like other offerings are cheaper
The first one is frozen.
The second link unless you can find someone to share with you otherwise you can’t finish it on the same day.
This is a premium brand, the taste and texture is different, shops in fish market sold at $32 / 50g.Ps. I have shopped with them twice. They are willing to listen customer’s feedback and making improvements.
if it only comes with free delivery
11% off fresh produce is hardly worth mentioning on OzBargain.
Not sure how these are fished these days but a couple of decades back the seabed would be massacred by the fishing techniques. Hopefully it’s improved.
Still happens, not just for urchins but also for various prawns, squid, flounder, etc. Bottom trawling is the underwater equivalent of felling whole forests to catch a few species of bird and in the process also killing or displacing all the other animals in the forest. But what we don't see we don't care about, and too often even if we do see ..
Never heard or tried sea urchin roe and it seems quite expensive. I love fish roe which I always buy by the kilo(s) when it comes on the (fish) market periodically.
The cheapest I seen around Melbourne was around $30 per tray… i still prefer to buy whole urchin and open/clean myself , abit of work but well worth it, work out about 150-200grams of roe from 1 KG of whole urchin
Awesome. Can OP explain what's the difference between this and the 10A grade tray? Does that one just contain larger, more complete pieces?
