Hey guys, I've been getting into acai bowls and smoothie bowls. I make them with barely any liquid cos I like it extra thick.. I just use frozen fruit and ice. I'm currently using a Nutribullet 600w and it smells like burnt engine when it blends. It scares me a little lol. Two extractor blades rubber bit has broken on me in the last 3 months. I'm looking at buying something stronger and more suitable for blending frozen fruit and ice.
I would appreciate your recommendations!

Vitamix has a pretty good 5y warranty on their stuff for around $600.
You could go commercial kitchen supplier https://www.nisbets.com.au/apuro-bar-blender-with-sound-encl… . I would have confidence with Nisbets backing their products they stock, as they are huge and wouldn't be sourcing products that would jeopardise their reputation. Haven't personally used a Apuro though, but imagine it would be pretty well built. It weighs 8.9kg (though i note the extra sound-proof enclosure but that's plastic). A heavy blender tells me the motor windings are heavy duty.
I have the Nutribullet 900w and thought it was great. Unfortunately the blades stopped turning (within a year) so I got another lid bit with the blades under warranty. Now the whole thing has stopped working altogether (<2 years since purchase). Looking for another one as well..
NutrilBullet Pro 1000 is the best.
(I'm selling one lol)
Vitamix blenders are pretty good thru whole range.
Had mine for 7yrs, no probs, crushed plenty iceTry adding a bit more liquid in addition to the frozen fruit. I don't think the Nutribullets are designed to make extra thick smoothies. We use a banana, frozen fruit (usually strawberries), almond milk and Greek natural yoghurt.
We have the NutriBullet Select 1200 and it makes great smoothies for us every day.
Have you checked your blender blades? Sounds like they might have rusted? Try getting replacement Blades on eBay
