Looking to buy 4x iPad 8th gen for work. I have cases for the 8th gen and am only just ready to buy the iPads now. Bad timing cause the 9th is out now.
Is there somewhere I can buy the older geb refurbished or unopened or anything?

Ah thanks. I was wondering that. I guess the only other benefit would be maybe saving a bit of money if I can find some 8th gens

Yeah, the apple education store doesn’t ask for a student Id so maybe you could mention that. I recommend that you ring around different stores until one of them price match, doesn’t matter if it isn’t local because they send you a link to pay so you can choose free delivery. Some stores may not match but some do

Please recheck the ipad cases with manufacturer for iPad 9th gen to be sure. Recently I made enquiry with Griffin that their GIPD-016-BLK that was meant for 7th gen and 8th gen won't fit 9th gen. Weird I know.
Nah, griffin was clearly unsure because the 9th gen just came out.
Looking at apples website, the 7th, 8th and 9th gen have the exact same dimensions.

I just got a 9th gen too and it’s absolutely identical to the 8th and 7th gen in terms of outside dimensions and any case will work perfect.

I dont think its worth it at all for last gen models, new one will last longer with updates, feel slightly faster, and have a better front camera. Plus $469 with the education discount and 15% off the $469 with the 30x flybuys points. I know apples refurbishing process is the best out of any manufacturer but still you pay more for more storage which makes sense but its still last gen. And I dont think that refurbished ones have the extra year of ACL warranty like the new one. just 1 year on refurbished and 2 year on new
The cases on the 8th gen work perfectly with 9th gen as the enclosure is the same
Also, the 9th gen with the new front camera and updated chip would be good with the extra base storage would be worth it over prices for 8th gen. They haven’t dropped much. I strongly recommend you call jbhifi to price match the apple education store so you might be able to put under business name
