Excellent price on this tablet from Lenovo packed with features and a lot cheaper than the previous deal. It's the successor to the XiaoXin Pad (Tab P11 in Australia) and has a heap of improvements that makes it so much better. As per the title this has Widevine L1 DRM so Netflix/Prime will be in FHD.

Techtablets did an indepth review with the only downsides being no 3.5mm audio jack and slow face unlocking. ETA Prime's review shows the gaming capabilities.

Furthermore it packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G that's typically on par with a Snapdragon 845 making it a good mid-range CPU perfect for gaming. It supports PC mode (similar to Samsung Dex) with USB-C video out and can be used with a keyboard/touchpad case.

Other features include Android 11 support with Google Play, 11.5" 2.5K OLED display with 500nits & 100% sRGB, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable), 8400mAh battery (supports quick charge) and JBL speakers.

  • Who can go past these great features:

After absorption quickly switch the computer keyboard mode.

passed the certification of food ETUV

    Four JBL speaker authentication

cooperate with the power key fingerprint unlock

    Front double perturbation

fully protect eyesight and health of body and mind

  • How are these (or android tablets in general) compared to iPad for this use case:

    • locking / unlocking tablet frequently and swapping apps frequently?

I walk around all day and lock/unlock my tablet and switch between apps frequently. Tried this on Surface Go 2 ME and the lag was unbearable (esp. pressing the button and unlocking the tablet)

My iPad mini 6 on the other hand is instaneous in both areas.

    • I meant M3 sorry, not ME

  • Hi, I’m not trying to start any debates between IOS and Android users but is there anyone out there who can break out the pros and cons between the iPad 9th Gen and this for me? I’m not too sure about how the specs of the iPad compare to this. Mainly looking at pairing with a Apple Pencil / Lenovo Pen for studying purposes. Thanks in advance!

    • Ipads are really fast and have excellent battery on sleep mode but they use iOS which is very restrictive compared to android. If you want a laptop replacement, then android is better.

  • Damn if i didn't buy the cheapo sammy A7 a few months back i'd be all over this.

Tempting… But what do we think about long term support of these? I've had so many Lenovo tablets where they haven't even provided a single major Android update (Tab3 7", Tab4 Plus, M10, Smart Tab). And I've had to leave behind some really neat Android tablet hardware because they were abandoned not long after getting one major upgrade (Dell Venue 10 7000 anyone?).

Granted all of those were relatively cheap at ~$200, but now this one at $450 is spitting range to an iPad - a technically inferior one, but Apple have a proven track record of supporting their devices for several years. I'm going to be really disappointed when a powerhouse like this becomes abandonware…

    • +1

Yeah agreed, especially with the lack of 3rd party custom rom support.

    • Yeah, I am just not a real fan of ios. It'd be hard to go back to.

Nokia has a new one out, although only a 10.5, they are android one and awesome for updates. I wish they did a 12" one. I'm just really wanting a decent 11.5 or larger lean android. So not a heavy samsung android.
I do have 10" Lenovo yoga tab and it is fine, did get an android 10 upgrade., but old and a bit underpowered. I'm a bit annoyed the only ones they sell locally are the 4gb ram models.

  • Can someone recommend me a tablet please?

I would like to use it for:

    reading / web browsing
comfortably running tradingview app (to follow the stock market etc…)
    has half-decent battery life.
and it would last me a good 2 years.

    TYIA

    • Budget?

      • around $400
        screen size around 10"

  • How are these compare to the top end Samsung?

  • Amazing tablet for media consumption, sound and video wise. OLED is pentile matrix, you will only notice it if you're looking for it and don't expect any updates from Lenovo. A good buy.

  • What sort of gaming can this handle?

    Cod
    Pubg
    Emulators ps1,2, n64

    • Check the ETA Prime video in the post.

      • Great review of real world use as well as a decent comparable review.

        Good link, thanks clear.

  • Would this be a good option for outdoor usage in summer? I'm wanting to do some Netflix watching and gaming (via ps remote play / Xbox game pass) but doing so outdoors - the 500 nits screen is a huge drawcard for me for this reason. Is there something else though around the same pricetag that would achieve this or better? I have considered a laptop/Chromebook etc but most screens seems quite dim & not suitable for outdoor usage.

    Expensive Chinese product

Should be selling for under $200 to be a deal

    Aliexpress….. hmmmmm

    • +1

Please link us to a $200 Chinese alternative that's better?

      That you Trump?

  • Any ideas how much this will be when Lenovo Australia stock it? I think it might be as low at $599. If that's the case then combining it with the usual 15% cashback will get you it with an Australian warranty for $510.

    • I don't think there will be an AU release. I'd expect the more high end 2021 version to be released if they were going to.

  • Bought 2 for the fam..Thanks OP!

  • What would be the cheapest tablet with snapdragon 888. I just want to play some switch games on a tablet

    • +1

There's currently no tablets released with the Snapdragon 888.

Here's a list of SD 870 tablets sorted by the most powerful.

  • Ali express let me down many times.. I feel like I would not buy a thing even they are giving it for free.

    • AliExpress now supports PayPal. Could test the waters buying something cheap, say a torch?

  • +1

If anyone is after a genuine leather case (cheap split leather) this is the only one and the cheapest I could find. $38.14

Cheapest tempered glass I could find is $6.37

  • +1

So it would see Lenovo have released a new tablet called the Tab P11 Plus that might make it to Australia as it's available in the US right now.

Specs aren't as good as this XiaoXin Pad Pro and they've opted for a MediaTek G90T CPU instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU so that could be a real downside for others.

Interesting enough there is a XiaoXin Pad Plus and that's a bump up from the Pad Pro in this deal as it offers a Snapdragon 750G. I didn't share it because it's a China only model with no Global ROM available, no Google Play and no Widevine L1. It would seem the one linked above is intended to be the global release instead.

  • Code is expired.

    • It still works and the price is now cheaper.

      $318.54

      • It's my fault. I first put a code for $2 off and the codes do not stack. Now I can't get rid of the first code. Might have to create a new account.

  • Package arrived today, 1week, pretty fast. Very light and we'll built, a little heavy when using with cover.
Was trying to connect to external monitor through usbc port with taskbar app. Still unable to adjust the monitor resolution. Hoping to replace my laptop for everyday usage.

  • Received it a couple of days ago. A few issues.

Android 10 should be upgradable to Android 11 on this model (as per google videos). It is not, it is still Android 10.

Next, the support. Apparently, you can't get a support from Lenovo Australia as serial numbers belong to Lenovo China. On Lenovo China website, no English is available, but also serial numbers and models are not shown up.

Also, trying to know for sure if Precision Pen 2 will be working on this tablet. Again, English manuals indicate that it should, but it is a Chinese model.

Anyone knows how to resolve these issues?

Feeling a little bit regretful to get this deal. Was lured by the reviews of the tablet and a remark that it is from Lenovo online shop. Well, another lesson learnt.

    • So if you go to Settings and try to do an OTA update there's nothing available?

You're not going to get support from Lenovo Australia as this is the Chinese model (XiaoXin), sold by AliExpress (China) and Lenovo don't have an official store on AliExpress. These are risks you take when you buy from China.

      • Yes, Clear. If your post didn't say "OS Android 10 (Android 11 via OTA)" I doubt I would pull the trigger.

        • +1

I always try to post accurate information and the Lenovo update matrix for the P11 Pro has said updates started rolling out Late September. So I'm doing what everyone should do before purchasing electronics… and Googling to see what I can find for you.

Ok this may be some help and I've seen it referenced in the Chinese ZUI forums as well. Using the LMSA software to download and flash firmware.

          https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Android-based-Tablets-an…

  • You should be able to upgrade to Android 11 using the OTA update.
Is that your only issue? Your other comments are just comments.

    • There is no upgrade option to Android 11 via OTA.

I believe if you bought 2 of those tablets yourself your comments would become the issues too.

      • Did you not read back in the previous comments where I said I did buy 2?
There is an update to Android 11 using OTA, I also said there was an issue with the keyboard but it seems to be fixed now with the latest update.

      • +1

Did you get the chinese version or the global version?

        • Not sure 100%. Though, I did check the order carefully before placing it. If it was 'global' or 'chinese' I would choose 'global'

Do you mind telling me the steps you've updated to Android 11? I may miss something. There are no updates available in the system updates.

          • +1

@mutnyi2001: This is the link i've been involved with when sorting out the keyboard problem, there is instruction there on how to do the updates.

            https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Android-based-Tablets-an…

            Hope it helps

For the record, when i was choosing my 2 devices i almost got caught out a few times with the Chinese version vs the Global.

            • @Rockgod70: Also, for curiosity, have you been able to find a support website for your tablets?

When I contacted Lenovo Australia with my serial numbers they said they are not supporting them as they are under China Lenovo.

China Lenovo doesn't recognise these tablets by serial numbers either.

I've brought the question about the support to Lenovo Shop on Aliexpress (the seller). They've started the chat, claiming that the tablets are 'global version', but when I gave them my serial numbers to provide the link for the support, they keep quiet.

Question: are these tablets legitimate ones? If so, where to find the technical support for them?

              • @mutnyi2001: When i had problems with my first tablet (which ended up being the incompatibility with the ROM, so i t was the same thing with the second tablet) Aliexpress were more than helpful and gave me a full refund, i then ordered the replacement.
Maybe OzB isn't the place for tech support, try the forum in the link I sent as it appears many users on there have the same devices.

  • Just received my tablet. Netflix does not work as Play Protect Certification says that the device is not certified. No OTA update to Android 11, i had to flash it manually. Now to figure out how to certify the device, otherwise need to sideload Netflix.

    • Plenty of guides around the place about Google certification.

      https://www.google.com/android/uncertified/?pli=1

    • Hi, may i know how to update to Android 11?, same here, netflix not working and i read some online guide that needs to sideload.

      • Yes, Netflix doesn't work so you need to install manually.
I googled Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad pro download netflix and managed to get it. You just need to enable installing from third party in the settings.

        • Does the tablet have the Lenovo app store? Many have said you can grab it there.

          • @Clear: Not sure, it's the Mother-in-laws, i bought it for her and she uses it. Can't remember it having the Lenovo Store. It had Lenovo support app, but not store that I can recall.

  • Any good cases to go with the tablet for kids?
