  • The specs look exactly the same as those Aliexpress ones for $30-$40.

      any recommendations ? :)

  • No mac support it seems

I simply couldn’t recommend any capture device from Razer anymore, especially after they end the support from the first Ripsaw, even when the same model from AVerMedia still having driver updates. Basically they’re bricking a perfectly good device on purpose, and the new model is barely even better compared to the previous model. That is just disappointing. Besides, at this price, you can almost picking up a used Elgato device, which is way way better in regard to quality (hardware and software) and support. I’d say it is worse than those cheap stuff from Aliexpress, since those works, while Razer’s doesn’t.

    • Isn’t it like 5 years old? I think your expectations are too high

The problem is not how many years old it is. The problem is that the model it based on from AVerMedia is still supported, while Razer no longer their model.

And you can’t even hack it or replace its firmware to use AVerMedia’s driver, even if the only difference between these models are the enclosure.

Perhaps that makes this price good value then knowing it'll stop being updated at some point, which isn't exactly bricking it.

Sonos actively disabling old speakers of people who upgraded would be considered bricking.

  • can I record from Nintendo switch

  • Thanks 😊 Grabbed one for my son. Cheers
