130
TGG15

This Sharp R395EST 1200W Inverter Microwave - S/Steel microwave is on sale and further reduced to $237.15 when using the coupon code. Decided to stick with Sharp microwave since my other one lasted for more than 15+ years. Was about to get the Panasonic microwaves from the previous deals but lucky I waited. I hope this Sharp model won't let me down.

Purchased eBay gift card from Suncorp to bring the price down to $230.04

Usually electrical items produced decade ago is longer lasting than current one. My Sharp is still going for more than 18 years now.

    • I hope this new one lasts for 5 years+.

    • yes, I got a Sharp microwave for work over 10 years ago and it is still working like a charm.

    • Not just electrical, everything was produced at better quality a decade ago. For example, I have cheap long sleeve tees from big w wear as pyjama nearly 10 yrs still wearing it this winter, Target’s 1000tc bed sheets set 7-8 yrs as good as sheridan, the new one just so much thinner, Next chinos nearly 10 yrs compare to the recent one just so much decrease in quality.

And yes, I’m still using my old Sharp microwave, 15 yrs now. Been contemplating on upgrading to a more slicker stainless steel looks, but I think I will holding on to it until it dies.

I will not recommend this microwave, bought new in less than 6 months interior light started flickering. It also give annoying noise ever after stopping the microwave.

    Check the product review..

I bought this one as I really liked them at my work… worked great for a year but then it just stopped heating… all the ones at my work needed to be replaced also… the lg one at the good guys is a similar price and seems better (there’s even a hack to turn off the god awful tunes)

I'd recommend this oone, got from TGG / Ebay, March 2017 ($198), and still going strong:
    Panasonic NN-SF574SQPQ 27L 1000W

Sharp have exited the microwave market here in Australia. Tempo Australia are now the official distributer of Sharp microwaves. Good luck finding any other retailer who will sell you one. I would recommend LG or Panasonic.

  • I have a 1200W similar looking microwave for 7 years and hasn’t skipped a beat. I wouldn’t buy anything other than a Panasonic and Sharp microwave.

  • SHARP should stick to FAX machines

  • Yeah you can't count on a brand to be the same as 15 years ago. Hopefully the sharp works. I've got a Panasonic that I bought in 2007 that's still going.
