Premium nbn (100/20) for The Price of Standard Plus (50/20) for 12 Months - $95/Month (New & Exsiting Customers) @ Telstra

914

Telstra NBN is now doing a special offer for new users. $95/mth for 12 months then $110/mth.

I am an existing Telstra NBN Standard Plus (50Mb) customer and paying $95 per mth (raised from $90 last month). Just spent 2hrs talking to Telstra via live chat today and finally upgraded to Premium Speed Plan (100Mb) for next 12 months without extra monthly fee raise.

The downside for this upgrade is I will lose $5 Telstra credit for the next 3mths (those $5 was to compensate for my current plan price up from $90 to $95) . The upside is I will have 100Mb speed for the next 12mths.  roughly will save $15x12mths - $5x3mths = $165 in total if I can downgrade to Standard Plus Plan in time. Can I call this a bargain?

Min cost for new customers $311 if you cancel after 1 month (incl. $216 modem, $15 plan credit). If you leave within 24 months pay out the modem ($9/mth for every month remaining in the first 24 mths). Credit applied by the second bill. Until 25 October 2021.

    • Via the app is pretty bad anyway. Slow mostly useless responses

    • Chat via Telstra app, it’s quicker . They will reply instantly

Join ABB 2 months ago, got 1000/50(free) for the first months, $99 for the 2nd months on 100/20. With Superloop before ABB, on 100/20 and 250/25(free upgrade) for 11 months. Both exceed max speed on 100 plan, 245+ on 250 superloop plan, 600+ on ABB 1000 plan. They both very good, can’t speak for Telstra NBN, but their prices aren’t attractive.

  • Overpriced.

Hey OP, don't take the negs and comments personally, they aren't at you, they are at Telstra :)

I saw a lot of comments negative about this deal. but I alway thought this depends on your situation. I am an old school person and my address only supports HFC, So I am happy to stay with telstra. Then I will count this as a bargain because I can pay the same price but enjoy the higher speed. This was why I took that offer and upgraded my plan today

If you enjoy the lower price and higher speed that is provided by other providers, then I agreed that this may not be a bargain for you.

  • Way too much

  • this is your idea of a "special offer"? lol

500+mbps down minimum (during peak) and 50+up for $70/month with Optus 5g broadband from last 18 months. And I know this is not available in all areas and also some concerns about latency etc. But it's been a godsend for what I needed/need for working from home (video calls, streaming, etc.).

No thanks Telstra! If I ever have to go NBN, I'll go with ABB.

I am with Telstra on the same plan as OP with the $5 credit applied. And also eligible to upgrade to the fastest plan for $95/mth (reverting to $110/mth after 12 mths) and no lock-in contract.

I just checked ABB, and for my address, the fastest comparable plan is similar price, 1st month free @ $99/mth. It doesn’t include a modem, nor a phone line, nor 4G SIM backup.

    Am I missing something?

    Edit:

Just checked AGL and Optus, both are similar in pricing to Telstra.

  • if u have a stable connection(e.g FTTP) u cant find anything better than Telstra and its local/international Routing/POPs around the globe

ppl comparing it with ABb/SL have no idea that ABB is not that premium when it comes to overall snappy internet as they always have one or the other routin issues which not everyone notices

Telstra is not dumb, they have a very good/stable core network and thus premium bandwidth/routing

I have tried SL(CVC issues), ABB(minimal issus but still sometimes have issues wih FB/Insagram unoptimized routing), FBB(pathetic Intl Routing for a sooo called premium provider), Launtel(good service but doesnt give u full intl speeds)

So in general if u can afford T, better overall (all analysis based on network performace only, u can consider other aspects but T's Cust service aint that bad)

I have to agree with you here. Been on Telstra, ABB and Superloop.

Superloop has turned to garbage. It all started with 80-100ms latency in the evenings, but now I’m seeing streaming services drop frequently to the lowest quality between 8-11pm.

For the sake of saving a few bucks a month it just isn’t worth going anything but Telstra. ABB are okay, but SL turned to trash.

This isn’t a bad deal either. The 4G backup is 25/5 these days.

  • False and misleading advertising on the Telstra site.
    Click on link
$95 deal 100/20 free modem one year contract. No cancel fees.
Then u click thru and it says u will have a pay off modem at$9 a month if u leave b4 2 years.

    Dodgy stuff.

  • Yeah I'm so done with Telstra
Just wasted two hours to get disconnected after I was told by multiple agents and given a reference number they end up telling me I'm not eligible even after I threatened to leave and was told okay your account is in good standing we will do it

  • Hi guys, I’m currently with Telstra. But they kept increasing the price. So I want to swap to other providers. Only concern is if I need to buy a new modem/router. Im currently using the one Telstra provided for HFC. Thanks
