Experience: The First Purchase from Techfast

I have purchased my pc (5600X | 3060ti) on 29 Sep from Techfast at $2099, and its price decreased to $1908 less than one week (the price dropped on 5 Oct) after my purchase.

My experience with Techfast before I found out there the price drop was great. They replied via emails on time, which took not more than one day (sometimes even on the same day) and dispatched my PC 1 or 2 days after I purchased it. But 200 buckets is not a minor deal to me. Am I wasting around 200 buckets simply because I bought this item 5 days earlier, and does Techfast provide price matching for such a short period?

I have emailed them about this issue, but I am not sure what else I can do at this stage. Any suggestions, please, lads?

Will update later.

Nothing, unless you have price protection insurance.

You agreed to pay $2099, they delivered what was promised. The price 5 days later is irrelevant, it could be $0.99, it could be $50,099. Any refund provided by Techfast is out of their own good will.

Have you ever bought petrol for your car?? Prices can change often you can't go requesting a price from one or two days before regardless of how many litres of fuel you are purchasing.

Enjoy the purchase and move on, if you are given any refund feel very fortunate as opposed to feeling like its an entitlement, its definitely not an 'issue' with your agreed terms of sale which you have confirmed they fulfilled.

    • Need 7/11 Price Lock*
*May not work on nonfuel items. lol

  • How did you know the price decreased on 5 October, since it's the early hours of 5 October now? 🤔 Is it on their site? Mind to share a link to that PC?

Thanks for joining OzComputers and sharing this fascinating piece of information with us.

Would you have posted if the price had gone up since your purchase instead of down?

I suggest contacting ACCC and lodging a complaint ASAP.

Just cause the price changes in the future, doesnt mean their cost decreased when they sold it to you. Why do you think they have any responsibility to do this at all ?

When you bought it, you thought it was a good price, be happy with that. If their base cost changed allowing them to sell it cheaper in the future, that's life, move on.

So they provide you great service and quick delivery time and you still complain now of being ripped off by them. Have you ever bought anything before. Are you going to give $200 back if it went up on the 5th. Move on and enjoy your new pc.

Pro tip. If you did your best research before purchase and it was the cheapest you could get at the time then that is all you can do once it is delivered. Alternatively cancel if possible before delivery and reorder at new price. Are you going to complain in 3mths time that the price is $600 less. Or buy on major sales days.

    Get over it mate.

Prices go up and down all the time. You were happy to pay the original price. It's possible they are using a different brand or component to get the price down, or the supplier is offering them a better deal to make it cheaper.

I have purchased a PC from TechFast last year and found their service to be fantastic, the build of the machine was great and it arrived well packaged and on time.

All of these things are hard to find in some companies these days. This post has the potential to hurt the company that has done nothing wrong.

As a consumer, once you agree to pay a price for something you agree to that price. Far out the entitlement is real.

I'm waiting for the post by Techfast, complaining that they couldnt drop their price earlier, because you were slow placing your order…..

If prices went up five days after do you:

    1) Pat yourself on the back because you got a deal
    2) TechFast can ask you to pay the price difference
    or
    3) both 1 and 2

Well, I just wanted to add a few details.

I know not all webs provide price matches after the purchase. But an important factor I would like to accept the price of $2099 shows that the price is discounted from $2399. How the item is advertised affects the way you value it. I thought the price discount would be gone soon and paid $2099. Last night when I shared my purchase with my friend, I saw the very same web says that it is offering a price of $1907 with an initial price of $2080 (, and I have checked that I could proceed with the check out at this price).

I am not saying I have a massive issue with the price of $2099. However, what makes me feel uncomfortable is that a price advertised me with a $300-off then turned out to be even higher than the "new" initial price Techfast suggests.

I want to share my experience with this purchase, and I am not here to complain as I did mention that the service of Techfast impressed me in the past week.

FYI: Just now, when I checked the system's price, the price went back to $2099. I am not sure how to upload screenshots on this platform and why the price dropped by around $200 just for one night.

    • So that link shows the system in question for $2099 with a $300 saving…

…Nice work on the advertising front…

  • Congratulations on buying a quality system at a price point which you were happy with.

  • What is this thinking? You agree to the price when you bought it. Simple as that. If you had bought it at $1908 and the price went back up 5 days later, can Techfast call you back and ask for $100 cause it was under a week?

Now you're here trying to play Techfast as the bad guys?

  • I don't get people actually complaining about price reductions like this. As others have said, you got what you paid for, and were happy with that price.

As others have also said, would you be willing to pay extra if the price went up?

Once I buy something, I don't go looking at prices for a good 2 months just in case prices drop.

Yeah … we all get that sinking "If only I had waited …" feeling.
