nline?
not Nline,
don't see a point in getting the Nline paying extra $$$$ for just cosmetic stuff.. if it was a performance thing then that would be a different story.
the 1.6T and 2.0 diesel only arrive mid September and the first YouTube reviews for both cars in Australia only uploaded a bout a week ago.
diesel to me is far more economical to run and has better power than the 1.6T
how much you get yours if you don't mind? so I can negotiate with them
@Mrokire: where are you located ?
@Archi: NSW
@Mrokire: i paid $53,000K list price $57,700
@Archi: NSW AS WELL?
@Mrokire: yeah…
@Archi: i got 52,500 for NLINE TURBO
@Mrokire: yeah… i preferred the white leather interior.
have you watched the youtube review yet?
@Archi: thank you, which dealer you get it?
@Mrokire: also are they reliable car like japanese brand?
@Mrokire: japanese cars to me are charging premium for the reputation they have held for a long time… and deserving
to me, other than Toyotas innovation and adaptation of the hybrid system to their cars, make them desirable.
Honda make boring cars of late, they have had so many great cars in the 90's but selection and design in this market is failing them i think.
but that's my view
@Mrokire: peninsula in bankstown
@Mrokire: Ok, sorry to revive an old thread 😅 I’m looking at picking up one of these cars. 1.6T highlander N Line. Never bought new. This is stock coming into the dealer next week. Can I negotiate? I had no idea. Would it being new stock impact it? I’ve never bought new. This one is 57,000. First new car I’ve bought.
@Asapbrocky: Haven’t you purchased a new car before?
@Euphemistic: Hahaha I was not paying attention when I typed that. Did ya know I’ve never bought new? First time ever. Cherry popping. Never been done. Virgin Mary.
curious to ask both of you if you did/didn't consider the upcoming Sportage (can't see why not other than upcoming release date and associated wait times)
Same basic car, looks subjectively better/worse. Would likely be a little cheaper, given that KIA's track record against their Hyundai eqv.
- Prefer the hyundai badge.
- like the exterior design especially the rear light bar and fang like lights.
- Interesting front DRL. Folds in the door panel. Because other cars in the segment are just plain
- like the tech features that come with the car. Blind spot camera. 360 camera
- like the interior styling. Seats are comfy and the air conditioning design..
- like the extra electric passenger seat controls in the centre of the car. Push buttons for D.R.P instead of traditional gear stick.
- customisable interior mood lights.
- remote start and remote car moving for tight spots.
- panoramic glass roof
- hidden rear wiper.
Don't like.
- how low the indicator lights are on the outside.
- chrome trim on the rear quarter panel.
- piano finish to the centre console.
- no fog lights.
- Android auto doesn't go full screen.
Hyundai is a good reputation for reliability of late. But this is a new model, so reliability untested.
Is a brand new car reliable?
WTF
NSW AS WELL?
NO THIS IS DOG
Given Hyundai's track record and warranty i wouldn't have any issues with it.
Been using Hyundai Tucson Highlander 1.6 Turbo since 2016… No issues.
diesel or turbo petrol?
Turbo Petrol
are they ok for city driving if I choose diesel? low kms
Do diesels still need the occasional highway run, or is that with just with older models?
Been driving a diesel Santa fe. As a daily runner.
Occasional highway driving with road trips.
And I get 7lts per 100 at the moment.
A full tank gets me close to 700km every week and about 1000km on a road trip.Premium diesel is about $1.45 per litre.
Premium unleaded at the moment is about $1.90how bout if i ony drive low milage? can I still get diesel? i just worried about the dpf might clogged. sorry first time for me to buy a diesel car? in case
@Mrokire: I did about 15k per year which is normal for the 6 years I owned the car.. didn't have a problem with the car.
@Mrokire: When buying any diesel powered vehicle first thing to do is add a 30 micron prefilter and a catch can that will give you trouble free motoring and stop DPF clogging from the start.
Best kit for both is Direction Plus "Provent" system with tailor made kits for your specific model.
(No association just a very happy customer)@Mrokire: I know this goes against general advice about driving safely, but if you don't plan to drive a diesel a lot then should adopt a little bit of a faster driving style in general where safe to do so, as driving it harder will help reduce chances of it clogging up sooner. Just get up to speed a little sooner in general.
Also, take it for a fast squirt on the freeway every couple of weeks to the next exit and back if you're worried it's not getting much use.
As a mechanic I would not recommend a modern diesel for city driving. If it's short drives.
Lol… is a 2022 car reliable… gotta be a crystal ball here somewhere…
Immma dinking bout the 2025 model - isitany good ?????
Is that the self drive model? or the one with Battery operated coffee cups holders?
Kia Sportage Hybrid coming out next year - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hejYAiQFj0
Looks better in my opinion.
looks nice, i like the rear lights, and the giant screen that goes across the dash.
whether or not the hybrid system will make it to Australia is another story, the Tucson has a hybrid model in Europe and USA but not coming here which is a disappointment,
Kia has said they're committed to bringing it here to compete with the Rav. I believe the only reason the Hyundai didn't make it here was because of sourcing issues.
that is weird, knowing hyundai and kia practically come out of the same factory… good on them
We have its smaller brother for about 2 years now, the Hyundai Kona 1.6T with the 7-speed DCT and it's been super reliable. No issues at all, just regular servicing.
The 1.6T is a lot of fun to drive, it's pretty zippy for a small/mid SUV!
thank you, no choosing against turbo petrol or diesel? if I choose diesel i will need to add 1.5k more.
Unless you are doing a lot of km don’t bother with the diesel.
yeah but the 1.6 turbo petrol they using dct clutch its no good
@Mrokire: Says who? Fast gear changes, great fuel economy, what’s not to like? I haven’t heard any horror stories about the Hyundai DCT but if it worries you that much then you’ve already made your decision… buy the diesel.
@Mrokire: That's not true, the DCT clutch is fantastic. It's much nicer to drive than the 2.0 petrol with the regular slushbox gearbox.
Turbo diesels have been around for 50 years
So I think they might be reliable by now.
Just hope that Hyundai haven't cut any cornersHave a 2017 Tucson Highlander 1.6T. Hassle free. Just so reliable. The DCT is a bit laggy at times so i pretty much drive with the Sports mode on.
I'm picking mine up Thursday, highlander turbo diesel.
took 4 months to arrive.
